Job Description

Dunkin' is a globally recognized restaurant brand known primarily for its coffee and baked goods. As one of the leading names in the quick service restaurant sector, Dunkin' has a strong heritage of providing quality products and exceptional customer experiences. Dunkin's business model operates largely through franchise partnerships, meaning that while the brand delivers established standards and a trusted reputation, individual restaurants are independently owned and operated by franchisees. These franchisees are responsible for hiring their own staff, setting employee compensation, and managing benefit packages, which can vary from location to location.

This particular opportunity is for an Assistant Manager position at a Dunkin' restaurant franchise. The Assistant Manager role is pivotal to the operational success of the restaurant, serving as the right hand to the Restaurant Manager. The Assistant Manager supports the leadership and development of the team, ensuring that every shift runs smoothly with a focus on team collaboration, guest satisfaction, and profitability. This is a leadership position requiring a hands-on approach to managing people and processes in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.

The Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in fostering a positive team environment by cultivating respect among staff members, providing coaching and feedback, and recognizing employee achievements. This leadership also involves actively addressing employee concerns and promoting clear and effective communication across the team. Recruitment, selection, and training of new Crew Members and Shift Leaders fall within the scope of this position, working closely with the Restaurant Manager to develop a versatile and well-prepared team.

Operational excellence is a core focus; the Assistant Manager is expected to uphold high standards of guest service by leading by example and encouraging a sense of urgency in meeting customer needs. Maintaining Brand standards for quality, service, and cleanliness at all times ensures repeat business and positive guest experiences. Compliance with required certifications such as ServSafe is mandatory.

Profitability elements are equally important, with responsibilities including driving sales through strategic marketing initiatives and maintaining tight control over labor, food, and cash costs. The Assistant Manager is also charged with ensuring safety and security within the restaurant by overseeing preventive maintenance and sanitation protocols. Collaborating with the Restaurant Manager to assess operational performance, develop actionable plans, and implement strategies to meet business goals are essential duties.

This role requires dedication, an ability to multitask effectively, and a passion for creating a thriving workplace culture aligned with Dunkin's brand values. While the franchisee owns the business and sets wages and benefits, working as an Assistant Manager offers invaluable experience in restaurant operations, team leadership, and customer service excellence at one of the world's most recognized food and beverage brands.
