This solid foundation has empowered Flynn Group to diversify its portfolio into multiple iconic brands, countries, and industries. Today, Flynn Group operates over 460 Applebee's restaurants across 24 states, solidifying its leadership in the casual dining sector.
Flynn Applebee's is one of the seven premier brands under the Flynn Group umbrella. Together with other renowned brands like Arby's, Panera Bread, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Wendy's, and Planet Fitness, Flynn Group has become the largest franchise operator globally. The company's mission is to be the premier operator within each of these esteemed brands by adhering to core values such as genuine care for people, playing like champions, and winning as one united team.
The role of an Applebee's Assistant Manager is an engaging position involving all facets of daily restaurant operations. This role requires a passionate leader who can inspire both guests and staff to have memorable experiences at Applebee's each day. The Assistant Manager must excel at problem-solving, effectively manage stress, and display resilience while fostering a positive and high-energy work environment. This role promises a challenging yet highly rewarding experience, combining hard work with the satisfaction of leading a successful team.

You will be responsible for responding promptly to guest concerns, conducting regular table visits to maintain guest satisfaction, managing inventory levels, and ensuring that all food preparation and presentation meet the highest quality standards. Effective employee scheduling is another crucial aspect of your role, along with maintaining safety, security, and outstanding cleanliness and sanitation in the restaurant.
Furthermore, the Assistant Manager plays a vital role in recruitment, staff training, and ongoing employee development through one-on-one coaching and performance evaluations. Accountability for cost control within assigned departments and strict compliance with all applicable laws, policies, and regulations are essential components of this position. Routine maintenance oversight and reporting to higher management are part of your responsibilities to sustain operational excellence.
Physical demands for the Assistant Manager include the ability to work varied shifts, including weekends, stand and move purposefully for extended periods, lift items up to 50 pounds safely, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity. This role also offers a structured management development program aimed at continuous leadership growth and career advancement within Flynn Group.
