Job Description
Blue Boiler Cats Master, LLC, along with its associated entities Blue Boiler Cats AL, Inc, Blue Boiler Cats FL, Inc, and Blue Boiler Cats MS, Inc, is an independently owned and operated franchise of the renowned Jimmy John's Franchise, LLC system. As a distinguished franchisee in the fast-casual dining landscape, Blue Boiler Cats proudly delivers consistently high-quality sub sandwiches made with all-natural* meats and fresh vegetables, freshly baked bread made on-site, and house-made ingredients including their famous tuna salad. They embody the Jimmy Fresh promise — a commitment to freshness, quality, and customer satisfaction since the franchise's inception in 1983.
These franchisees operate independently from the Jimmy John's Franchisor, SPV, LLC and its affiliates, ensuring that each location maintains a unique and dedicated management structure tailored to serve its community's needs while upholding the celebrated Jimmy John’s standards. The companies take pride in being equal opportunity employers fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace that values enthusiasm, leadership, and operational excellence.
The Assistant Manager position at Blue Boiler Cats is a key leadership role that supports the General Manager in ensuring smooth and efficient store operations. Working closely with the GM, the Assistant Manager oversees both the front-of-house and back-of-house activities, including day-to-day customer service, staff management, inventory oversight, and administrative tasks. This role demands a leader with passion and dedication, capable of motivating a team, managing busy rush periods, and maintaining high standards of food safety and customer service.
An Assistant Manager is expected to lead by example, adhering strictly to all company systems and procedures with 100% integrity. With a vibrant, eager, and positive attitude, the Assistant Manager acts as a role model, ensuring all employees meet the brand’s expectations. Key responsibilities involve completing food preparation duties, managing high-pressure situations effectively during peak operational hours, training new employees to integrate seamlessly into the team, conducting weekly inventory checks, and completing paperwork audits accurately. Communication with the General Manager about the operational needs and challenges of the store is critical to maintaining optimal performance.
This role requires at least 35 hours of work per week and the flexibility to handle varied tasks, such as key opening or closing the store as needed. Candidates should possess a basic proficiency in essential computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat to manage reports and communications efficiently. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, can organize tasks with minimal supervision, and demonstrates strong prioritization capabilities.
