Job Description
Lynn Lee Inc. / FalCo. LLC is a proud franchisee operating forty-one Dairy Queen locations and continues to grow. Dairy Queen, established in 1940, is a renowned global brand recognized for creating extraordinary fan experiences centered around quality food and excellent customer service. Lynn Lee Inc. / FalCo. LLC is committed to protecting and maintaining the success of the Dairy Queen brand by fostering a positive environment that drives loyalty and satisfaction among both team members and customers. This franchisee embraces a performance-driven culture emphasizing challenging, stimulating, and financially rewarding opportunities that align with core values and operational excellence. The organization values its employees as the key drivers behind its success and is dedicated to providing a workplace that supports growth, development, and achievement.
The role of Assistant Manager within Lynn Lee Inc. / FalCo. LLC’s Dairy Queen restaurants is integral to the operational success and customer satisfaction levels of each location. This position involves assisting the management team in executing various facets of restaurant operations, including financial oversight, product preparation, inventory management, personnel leadership, sales promotion, and marketing efforts. Assistant Managers play a crucial role in setting and maintaining high standards for quality, service, and atmosphere during their shifts, ensuring that each customer interaction reflects the brand’s ethos of value and excellence. They are responsible for managing the restaurant effectively during scheduled shifts, striving to meet or exceed customer expectations through operational efficiency and attention to detail.
One of the key responsibilities includes overseeing inventory control, ordering products as needed, and managing cash control procedures to safeguard company assets. The Assistant Manager will also focus on training initiatives, ensuring that shift leads and crew members are fully knowledgeable about all systems, routines, recipes, food safety, and restaurant safety practices. This role demands a proactive approach in implementing and incorporating established operational routines to set each shift up for success.
Business planning forms another essential component of this role. The Assistant Manager supports the execution of the restaurant's business plan with guidance from senior management and business consultants. This includes monitoring profit and loss indicators, analyzing costs of goods sold (COGS), adjusting labor schedules according to seasonal demand, and implementing strategies to increase average meal checks and customer visit frequency. They will assist in maintaining compliance with cash handling and security protocols while managing employee-related claims effectively.
Exceptional customer service, or "Fan Service," is at the heart of the Assistant Manager’s duties. This position demands the establishment of service standards, resolution of customer complaints swiftly and appropriately, and a commitment to building lasting relationships with frequent patrons. Speed of service and workflow efficiency are pivotal to fostering positive dining experiences and customer return rates.
Leadership and team development responsibilities include assisting with hiring, training, coaching, and developing crew and shift leads to build a skilled and productive team. The Assistant Manager will be a role model in policy enforcement and will support the preparation of employee schedules to meet business needs. Maintaining a positive, cooperative work environment is key to maximizing employee morale, productivity, and operational efficiency.
Health and safety are paramount in this role. The Assistant Manager must be ServSafe certified and help ensure that food safety remains a top priority within store operations. This includes enforcing proper food handling procedures, sanitation standards, safety regulations, and emergency response protocols.
Marketing responsibilities may involve contributing ideas to attract new customers, supporting local store marketing activities, and evaluating competitor strategies. This role requires adaptability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, frequently standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and operating in various temperature conditions.
