This role is pivotal in managing daily restaurant operations in the absence of the General Manager, ensuring that every shift runs smoothly and every customer experience reflects the highest standards of the brand. As the Person in Charge, you will oversee the complete functionality of the restaurant, managing a team ranging from 3 to 15 employees and guiding them towards delivering top-notch service and product quality. Your responsibilities include maintaining fast, accurate sandwich preparation, managing inventory to minimize waste and loss, and ensuring the restaurant's cleanliness and organization on each shift. The role demands proactive engagement with all levels of staff and coordination with the broader Jimmy John's network to uphold operational standards and exceed customer expectations.

This position is ideal for motivated leaders capable of handling the pressures of a high-volume operation, who are effective communicators and skilled in problem-solving both customer and employee issues. The Person in Charge will also be responsible for administrative duties such as completing daily and weekly paperwork, ensuring cash drawer security, and following up on equipment maintenance. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 19 years of age
  • Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, current automobile insurance, and maintain a clean driving record
  • No more than 2 minor violations in the past 3 years
  • No major violations in the past 5 years
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must have the stamina to work a minimum of 50-60 hours a week
  • Position requires bending, standing and walking the entire workday

Job Qualifications

  • Willing to work overtime, holidays, weekends as business dictates
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Ability to establish priorities and work independently
  • Skills to use a personal computer and various software packages such as Word and Excel
  • Ability to handle and resolve customer threats and issues
  • Ability to handle and resolve employee issues
  • Experience with a retail food company is a plus

Job Duties

  • Manage a staff of approximately 3 to 15 employees
  • Assign, oversee and evaluate work
  • Recommend promotion, transfer or termination of employees based on performance
  • Provide on-the-job training for new employees
  • Delegate and is responsible for the ordering, receipt, storage and issuing of all food, labor, equipment, cleaning, and paper supplies
  • Assist in the supervision of the preparation, sales, and service of food
  • Forecast food items and estimate consumption per shift
  • Supervise food preparation and service operations
  • Assist in-shoppers during rush periods
  • Ensure every customer receives world-class customer service
  • Route deliveries and serve drivers
  • Complete daily food preparation including opening procedures, meat and vegetable slicing, bread production
  • Complete closing procedures
  • Execute systems and procedures with 100 percent integrity and completeness
  • Complete daily and weekly paperwork
  • Responsible for 100 percent of the cash drawers at all times during the shift
  • Receive and store product
  • Audit previous shift's systems and procedures
  • Complete preventive maintenance and upkeep on store's equipment and supplies
  • Maintain professional appearance in compliance with dress code
  • Display a positive and enthusiastic approach to assignments
  • Perform other related duties as required
