Job Description
The establishment at 775 Asp Ave, Norman, OK 73069, United States, is a dynamic and customer-focused restaurant that prides itself on delivering high quality products and world-class customer service. As a team-oriented eatery, this restaurant maintains a strong commitment to cleanliness, efficiency, and excellence in every shift it operates. The culture within the team fosters growth, learning, and collaboration, making it an ideal workplace for those passionate about the food service industry and eager to develop managerial skills.
The role of Assistant Manager is vital to the smooth operation of the restaurant, especially during times when the General Manager is not available. This position requires a professional who can step in with confidence to manage all aspects of the restaurant's functions – from supervising staff to overseeing food preparation and customer interactions. The Assistant Manager ensures the delivery of fast, accurate sandwiches while maintaining a clean and organized work environment, creating a positive experience for both employees and customers. This is a hands-on role demanding leadership, operational expertise, and the ability to multitask under fast-paced conditions.
The Assistant Manager typically oversees a team ranging from three to fifteen employees, providing on-the-job training to maintain high standards of service and food quality. The role includes responsibility for ordering, receiving, storing, and issuing all food and supplies efficiently to minimize waste and prevent theft. Key operational tasks such as forecasting food needs and supervising preparation and service processes are integral to ensuring the restaurant runs smoothly and meets sales targets.
In addition, the Assistant Manager plays a critical role in customer satisfaction by ensuring every customer receives top-notch service and that delivery operations are managed to maximize efficiency and speed. Monitoring inventory, completing opening and closing procedures, handling cash drawer responsibilities, and performing equipment maintenance are also regular responsibilities. The position requires strict adherence to established systems and procedures, including auditing previous shifts to guarantee consistent quality and security.
Beyond the operational duties, this role demands strong communication skills, proficiency with common computer software like Microsoft Excel and Word, and the physical stamina necessary for long shifts involving standing, walking, lifting, and other physical activities. The Assistant Manager must be able to work flexible hours, including overtime, holidays, and weekends, meeting the demands of a busy restaurant environment.
This position is best suited for individuals who are detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to excellence in fast-paced restaurant management. The Assistant Manager contributes significantly to the overall success and reputation of the restaurant by maintaining high standards in both food quality and customer service. While the specific pay range is not listed, this role offers an opportunity to grow within a dynamic team and gain valuable managerial experience in the food service industry.
