We are currently seeking a dedicated Assistant Manager to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all restaurant operations during the General Manager's absence. The Assistant Manager is responsible for ensuring that customers receive fast, accurate sandwiches and world-class customer service while maintaining a clean and organized shift across all functions of the restaurant. This role covers managing staff, maintaining inventory accuracy, supervising food preparation and service, and ensuring adherence to all operational procedures.

This position requires a hands-on leader capable of managing teams ranging from three to 15 employees. The Assistant Manager will deliver on-the-job training and delegate important responsibilities such as ordering, receipt, storage, and distribution of food and supplies to minimize waste and prevent theft. Forecasting food consumption and managing labor and equipment resources efficiently are also key components of this role.

As the frontline leader during shifts, you will supervise food preparation and service operations, assist during peak hours to maintain efficiency, route deliveries, and oversee delivery drivers to maximize business and speed. Responsibilities also include completing opening and closing procedures, managing cash drawers, and conducting audits to ensure systems and procedures are followed with 100% integrity and completeness.

The position requires a strong aptitude in math, computer software such as Excel and Word, and outstanding communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Physical demands include abilities such as standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and occasional climbing or balancing. Our ideal candidate is willing to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed and must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, current automobile insurance, and a clean driving record.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Reliable transportation
  • Current automobile insurance
  • Clean driving record
  • Physical stamina to work 50-60 hours per week
  • Ability to speak, read and write English fluently
  • Willingness to work overtime, holidays and weekends
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear
  • Capability to perform physical activities including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to maintain 100 percent integrity in executing systems and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Strong math abilities including addition, subtraction, fractions and percentages
  • Proficiency in personal computer use including Excel and Word
  • Excellent English communication skills in speaking, reading and writing
  • Leadership skills with experience in staff management
  • Experience in food service or restaurant operations is preferred

Job Duties

  • Manages a staff of approximately three to 15 employees
  • Provides on-the-job training for all employees
  • Delegates and is responsible for ordering, receipt, storage and issuing of food, labor, equipment, cleaning and paper supplies while minimizing loss
  • Assists in supervising preparation, sales and service of food
  • Forecasts food items and estimates consumption per shift
  • Supervises food preparation and service operations and assists during rush periods to maintain efficiency
  • Ensures every customer receives world-class customer service
  • Routes deliveries and supervises drivers to maximize delivery business and speed
  • Completes daily food preparation including opening and closing procedures
  • Executes systems and procedures with 100 percent integrity and completeness
  • Completes daily and weekly paperwork
  • Responsible for 100 percent of cash drawers during the shift
  • Audits previous shift's systems and procedures
  • Completes preventive maintenance and upkeep on equipment and supplies
  • Performs other related duties as required
