Job Description
Beau Jo's Management Company is a well-established restaurant management company renowned for delivering exceptional dining experiences through its network of vibrant and customer-focused restaurants. Committed to high standards of service and profitability, Beau Jo's emphasizes meticulous adherence to company policies, providing a supportive and dynamic work environment for its employees. The company is dedicated to fostering growth and development within its team, ensuring that every opportunity for professional advancement is actively pursued and supported. Known for blending classic hospitality with innovative operational strategies, Beau Jo's continually seeks individuals who can contribute to its vision of excellence in the restaurant industry.
The Assistant Manager role at Beau Jo's presents a unique opportunity for motivated individuals who are passionate about hospitality management and operational excellence. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Assistant Manager is entrusted with overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant during assigned shifts, ensuring that both customer service and profitability standards are consistently met or exceeded. This role is crucial in maintaining the seamless functioning of the restaurant, balancing hands-on operational duties with leadership responsibilities.
The Assistant Manager's key responsibilities include supervising shift operations, following strict cash handling procedures, and completing critical opening and closing duties to prepare the restaurant for business hours and secure operations after closing. A significant part of the role involves engaging with guests efficiently and professionally to address any comments or concerns, enhancing the overall customer experience. The Assistant Manager also acts as a vital communication bridge within the team, reporting employee-related issues and complaints promptly to management through structured channels such as the Red Book system or one-on-one interactions.
In addition to daily operational tasks, the Assistant Manager plays an important role in employee management, which encompasses writing weekly schedules to optimize staffing needs, conducting ongoing employee development sessions and one-on-ones, and performing regular performance reviews. Understanding and enforcing company procedures—especially during crisis situations—ensures safety and compliance throughout the restaurant environment.
Beyond these primary duties, the Assistant Manager assumes departmental responsibilities aligned with specific managerial roles like Bar Manager, Server Manager, or Host Manager, as needed. This multifaceted aspect of the role requires versatility and a proactive approach to leadership. Other critical functions include interviewing, hiring, and training new staff members, constantly promoting safe food handling practices, enforcing safety protocols, and managing workers' compensation and general liability claims accurately.
The fast-paced nature of the restaurant industry demands quick, informed decision-making, and the Assistant Manager is expected to demonstrate decisive leadership in all operational circumstances. This role offers invaluable management experience and is ideal for candidates eager to advance their careers within the hospitality sector while contributing to a reputable and growing company.
