The role of an Applebee's Assistant Manager at Flynn Group is a multifaceted leadership position essential to daily restaurant operations. Assistant Managers are actively involved in every aspect of the restaurant's functioning, from supervising staff to ensuring guests receive top-tier service every visit. The role demands a leader who can inspire a team, solve problems quickly, manage stress effectively, and maintain a fun yet productive work environment.

Assistant Managers must ensure compliance with company policies as well as local, state, and federal regulations. Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years restaurant management experience
  • ability to work various shifts including weekends
  • ability to stand and move for up to 10 hours
  • ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds
  • ability to read and write to facilitate communication
  • possess finger and hand dexterity for using small tools and equipment

Job Qualifications

  • At least 2-3 years restaurant management experience
  • Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol certifications are a plus

Job Duties

  • Ensures timely, friendly service according to company guidelines, achieving established objectives of the unit
  • cultivates a culture in accordance with the Flynn Applebee's Premier Card of core values and beliefs
  • ensures immediate response and correction of all verbal guest complaints
  • ensures guest contact as a priority with required table visits
  • maintains departmental inventory levels
  • ensures product preparation and presentation meet company standards by performing line checks
  • effectively schedules employees to meet sales demands
  • maintains effective safety and security programs
  • promotes and leads restaurant organization, cleanliness, and sanitation
  • performs routine maintenance and reports needed repairs
  • promotes quality recruitment and referrals of team member and management candidates
  • promotes Flynn Applebee's training procedures for new managers
  • helps maintain a trained staff through orientation, training, meetings, and policy implementation
  • participates in employee development using one-on-one and performance documentation
  • assesses efficiency and provides regular feedback
  • monitors employee performance and manages disciplinary actions
  • assures compliance with company policies and laws
  • controls departmental costs
  • drives food and liquor inventories and ensures completion
  • prepares and submits accurate daily paperwork
  • assures sanitation standards meet or exceed health and company standards
