Job Description

Panda Express is a renowned leader in the American Chinese restaurant industry, widely recognized as the largest family-owned restaurant concept of its kind in the United States. Founded in Glendale, California, in 1983, Panda Express has grown exponentially to operate close to 2,800 locations globally. The company’s mission centers around delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences and fostering an environment where associates are inspired to improve both their professional and personal lives. With a strong emphasis on family values, Panda Express strives to create a supportive community for its team members, ensuring that every store not only serves great food but also nurtures a culture of respect, growth, and inclusion.

The company is currently seeking experienced leaders to join their store management team as Assistant Managers. This career opportunity offers a chance to work within a vibrant, fast-paced environment while contributing directly to the success of an individual store. Panda Express is committed to the development of its associates, providing paid Store Management Leadership Training that lasts three or more weeks, alongside ongoing mentorship and comprehensive support from the extensive Panda community. This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about leadership, customer service, and operational excellence, and who are eager to advance their career in the restaurant management field.

As an Assistant Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing store operations, including hiring, managing, and directing associates to meet financial targets and deliver outstanding guest experiences. This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to lead a diverse team, and a keen focus on maintaining high standards of food safety and customer service. Panda Express ensures that those stepping into management are well-prepared through hands-on training programs that cover all aspects of store leadership and operations. Additionally, the compensation package is competitive, starting with an hourly wage between $30 and $33, which varies based on location and experience, with the potential for bonus opportunities.

Working at Panda Express means being part of a company that values its associates highly. Benefits include health insurance options such as medical, vision, and dental coverage, voluntary short-term disability, and cancer income protection. The company also offers a pre-tax dependent care flexible spending account and a 401(k) plan with a company match. Paid time off, paid holidays, bereavement leave, and the Leave Share Program provide associates with respectful support during important life events. Employees enjoy free meals while working, discounts at theme parks, gym memberships, and other perks. There are opportunities for career growth and continuous leadership development, alongside education assistance and scholarships. Additionally, the company encourages giving back to the community, promoting a workplace culture that embraces both personal and collective success.

Panda Express ensures an inclusive environment and is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The company complies with all federal, state, and local laws protecting individuals from discrimination and provides accommodations for the application and hiring process as mandated by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The environment can be fast-paced and physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and efficiently manage kitchen operations. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, is essential.

Joining Panda Express as an Assistant Manager means stepping into a pivotal role within a successful, family-oriented organization with a strong commitment to your career growth and well-being. This career opportunity is ideal for motivated leaders ready to take on challenges and thrive in a dynamic restaurant management role.
