The role of Assistant Restaurant Manager at Prell Restaurant Group is a pivotal position designed to support the Restaurant Manager, shift leaders, and team members in maintaining smooth and efficient restaurant operations. This full-time position requires the ability to perform all responsibilities of the Restaurant Manager in their absence, including overseeing floor operations, managing staff training programs, and promoting a guest-first culture aligned with Dunkin’ brand standards. The Assistant Manager is empowered to provide strong positive leadership with a focus on operational excellence, team motivation, and driving profitable sales. The role involves direct accountability for training and certifying team members, implementing brand standards and new product rollouts, managing inventory and labor schedules, and ensuring all safety and sanitation protocols are enforced according to applicable laws. This position also demands effective communication skills to relay restaurant priorities, goals, and results to staff, as well as a readiness to engage with external Brand Field Operations teams when necessary.

Specific responsibilities include leading team meetings alongside the Restaurant Manager, supporting recruitment and onboarding processes, coaching team members to optimize guest satisfaction and profitability, and maintaining a safe and secure working environment. The role also involves regular review and action based on guest feedback, cost control measures to maximize profitability, and cash management adherence to franchise policies. Candidates must demonstrate strong analytical skills, business acumen, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced team setting. The Assistant Restaurant Manager is expected to embody a positive attitude, punctuality, honesty, and a strong willingness to learn and adapt to change. Job Duties

  • perform all responsibilities of restaurant team members
  • lead team meetings along with restaurant manager
  • oversee brand training programs, schedule, train, validate, certify team and shift lead staff
  • ensure brand standards, recipes and systems are executed
  • create and maintain a guest focused culture in the restaurant
  • review guest feedback results and implement action plans to drive improvement
  • communicate restaurant priorities, goals and results to restaurant team members
  • execute new product rollouts including training, marketing and sampling where applicable
  • execute point of purchase instore set up per brand standards
  • maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment by following and enforcing safety, food safety, and sanitation requirements
  • control costs to help maximize profitability
  • complete inventory on a periodic basis
  • support restaurant manager in completion of weekly labor schedule
  • support restaurant manager in assigning staff and deployment
  • support restaurant manager in completion of supplier and other vendor orders
  • conduct self-assessments and corresponding action plans
  • ensure restaurant budget is met
  • manage cash over/short and ensure team members follow cash management policies
  • engage with brand field operations team as appropriate
  • recruit, hire, onboard and develop restaurant team members
  • assist team and shift lead performance appraisal process
  • coach restaurant team members to drive sales, improve profitability and guest satisfaction
