The role of an Assistant Manager at KFC is pivotal in driving the restaurant’s success by supporting the Restaurant General Manager (RGM) and leading the restaurant team to operational and service excellence. This position requires a proactive leader who champions the brand’s culture and values, ensuring that every guest enjoys an unforgettable dining experience. The Assistant Manager acts as a key decision-maker during the RGM’s absence, demonstrating strong business acumen by managing daily operations, financial performance, and team dynamics. This is a full-time role with an expectation to work 50 hours weekly, including 40 hours at standard pay and 10 hours at time and a half, reflecting the demanding yet rewarding nature of the job.

In this role, the Assistant Manager invests heavily in coaching, training, and recognizing team members to build a motivated and high-performing workforce. They engage in recruiting new talent, ensuring that hires align with KFC’s commitment to equity, inclusion, and belonging. Assistants also maintain food safety and health standards, fostering a safe and compliant environment for employees and customers alike. Financial responsibilities include assisting with profit and loss management by overseeing cash control, security, inventory, and labor costs. 2 plus years of restaurant or retail management experience

lead efforts in individual and team recognition collaboration and motivation

Job Duties

ensure consistent customer satisfaction by effectively modeling the KFC Connect Success Routine and prioritizing customer needs
oversee team members adherence to shift responsibilities and maintain high food safety standards
take charge of restaurant operations in the RGM's absence
collaborate with the RGM in assessing team performance providing ongoing constructive and positive feedback
address employee relations issues as they arise determine immediate resolutions or escalate to the RGM when necessary
assist in sourcing recruiting interviewing and hiring team members while driving a culture of equity inclusion and belonging
assist with profit and loss management including cash control security procedures inventory maintenance and labor management
review financial reports and take appropriate actions to optimize performance
support the RGM in facility maintenance and ensure health and safety standards are consistently followed
