The role being offered is a management position focused on overseeing restaurant functions in the absence of the General Manager. This job is critical for ensuring that the restaurant maintains its high standards of customer service and product quality. The successful candidate will manage a team of three to 15 employees, providing on-the-job training and guidance to foster professional growth and team efficiency. This position demands a hands-on manager who can coordinate food preparation, service, inventory control, and customer relations effectively while maintaining safety and sanitation standards.

The Shift Manager will be responsible for ordering, receiving, storing, and issuing all necessary supplies including food, labor, equipment, cleaning, and paper products. Efficient management of resources is key to minimizing waste and theft, contributing to the restaurant's financial success. On top of daily managerial duties, the Shift Manager will supervise food preparation and sales activities, forecast food consumption per shift, and actively participate in food production tasks such as slicing meat and vegetables and performing opening and closing procedures.

This role also entails ensuring every customer interaction reflects the company's commitment to outstanding service. To maximize delivery business, the Shift Manager routes deliveries and supervises drivers to enhance speed and efficiency. The position requires maintaining 100% integrity and completeness in all systems and procedures, including cash drawer management and auditing previous shifts. Equipment upkeep and preventive maintenance fall under the manager’s responsibilities to guarantee smooth operational flow.

The role demands physical stamina and flexibility with the ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform various movements to support a fast-paced work environment. Candidates must be prepared to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as business needs dictate. This position requires a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, current automobile insurance, and a clean driving record. Job Requirements

  • must speak, read and write English fluently

Job Qualifications

  • Must have strong math abilities in addition, subtraction, fractions, and percentages

Job Duties

  • Manages a staff of approximately three to 15 employees
  • provides on-the-job training for all employees
  • delegates and is responsible for the ordering, receipt, storage and issuing of all food, labor, equipment, cleaning and paper supplies for the unit to ensure a minimum loss from waste and theft
  • assists in the supervision of preparation, sales and service of food
  • forecasts food items
  • estimates what amount of each food item is needed
  • estimates what amount of each food item will be consumed per shift
  • supervises food preparation and service operations while on duty
  • assists in shopper during rush periods to ensure the maintenance of restaurant efficiency
  • ensures that every customer receives world class customer service
  • routes deliveries and supervises drivers to maximize delivery business and speed
  • completes daily food preparation including opening procedures, meat and vegetable slicing and bread production
  • completes closing procedures
  • executes systems and procedures with 100 percent integrity and completeness
  • completes daily and weekly paperwork
  • responsible for 100 percent of the cash drawers at all times during the shift
  • audits previous shift's systems and procedures for 100 percent integrity and completeness
  • completes preventive maintenance and upkeep on store's equipment and supplies
  • performs other related duties as required
