The role of Assistant Manager at Flynn Applebee's involves active participation in managing the day-to-day restaurant operations while fostering an engaging and passionate customer and employee experience. Job Requirements
- At least 2-3 years restaurant management experience
- Serve Safe Food certification is preferred
- Serve Safe Alcohol certification is preferred
- Ability to work various shifts including weekends
- Ability to stand and move for up to ten hours
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely
- Ability to read and write effectively
- Dexterity for using small tools and equipment
Job Qualifications
- At least 2-3 years restaurant management experience
- Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol Certifications are a plus
Job Duties
- Ensures timely, friendly service according to company guidelines, achieving established objectives of the unit
- cultivates a culture in accordance with the Flynn Applebee's Premier Card of core values and beliefs
- ensures the immediate response and correction of all verbal guest complaints to self and staff
- ensures guest contact as a priority with completion of required table visits established by Flynn Applebee's standards
- maintains departmental inventory levels
- ensures product preparation and presentation uncompromisingly meeting company standards by performing line checks
- effectively schedules employees to meet sales demands
- maintains effective safety and security programs
- promotes and leads restaurant organization, cleanliness and sanitation
- performs routine maintenance and reports needed repairs to management
- promotes quality recruitment and referrals of potential team members and management candidates
- promotes Flynn Applebee's training procedures for new managers
- helps maintain a trained staff through effective use of orientation, training sessions, employee meetings, and company policies
- participates in employee development using performance documentation and evaluations
- assesses employee efficiency and provides regular feedback
- monitors employee performance and documents disciplinary or corrective actions
- assures compliance with company policies, practices, and procedures
- controls costs in assigned department
- complies with local, state, and federal laws and regulations
- drives bi-weekly/weekly food and liquor inventories at management request and is accountable for completion
- prepares and submits accurate daily paperwork
- assures sanitation standards meet or exceed health department and Flynn Applebee's standards
- provides a role model for managers and employees
- develops self on all store-related technology
- works in all restaurant positions as needed
- uses the Management Development Program for leadership growth
