The Restaurant Assistant Manager at QDOBA plays a crucial leadership role, responsible for supporting or stepping in for the Restaurant Manager to efficiently run day-to-day restaurant operations. This role requires a blend of strong managerial skills, people leadership, and a deep dedication to the brand's values. The Assistant Manager ensures an excellent guest and employee culture, managing staffing, training, and motivation to foster a positive work environment. They are accountable for achieving business goals, meeting food safety and service quality standards, and upholding brand compliance with policies and regulatory requirements. This position demands active engagement with guests and the community to enhance the overall restaurant reputation and experience.

In their leadership capacity, Assistant Managers at QDOBA monitor and adjust staffing levels, recruit and onboard new team members, develop employee skills through coaching and training programs, and recognize outstanding performance to maintain high morale. They also ensure adherence to all labor laws and compliance standards. Managing guest service includes holding the team accountable for food quality and service excellence, responding swiftly and professionally to guest concerns, and continuously striving to improve the guest experience through operational adjustments.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a leadership role
  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Spanish comprehension helpful
  • Basic reading, writing, math and POS skills
  • Must pass background check
  • Must complete management training program
  • Access to reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must work minimum 45 hours per week with varied shifts including weekends and evenings
  • Physical ability to perform job tasks including reaching, bending, stooping, climbing
  • Willingness to work flexible hours
  • Must adhere to safety and health regulations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Team Leader or Assistant Manager in customer service
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English
  • Familiarity with POS and basic computer skills
  • Completion of in-house management training program
  • Experience with coaching and developing employees
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills

Job Duties

  • Manage restaurant operations in the absence of the Restaurant Manager
  • Monitor staffing levels and recruit employees according to job profiles
  • Train, develop, coach, and evaluate employee performance
  • Assign activities and tasks and develop internal candidates for leadership positions
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and safety regulations
  • Hold team accountable for guest service and food quality
