Job Description

JS Fort Group, Inc is an independently owned and operated franchise of the Jimmy John's Franchise, LLC system, committed to delivering fresh, high-quality sandwiches with exceptional service. Since 1983, Jimmy John's has built its reputation on slicing all-natural meats and fresh vegetables in-house every day, baking fresh bread on-site, and preparing house-made items like tuna salad with care and consistency. The brand thrives on a culture that values speed, quality, and customer satisfaction, exemplified in every sandwich served. JS Fort Group upholds these principles and strives to provide a welcoming environment where employees and guests alike feel valued and respected as part of the Jimmy John's experience.

As an Assistant Manager within JS Fort Group, you will work closely with the General Manager to manage day-to-day in-store operations and ensure the smooth running of back-of-house administrative tasks. This role requires an enthusiastic, eager, and positive attitude, as well as the ability to lead by example with 100% integrity when executing company systems and procedures. The Assistant Manager is essential in maintaining the standards that define the Jimmy John's brand, particularly in high-pressure and fast-paced situations, while fostering a supportive workplace environment for the team.

Your responsibilities will include completing food prep to ensure the store is ready for business, managing busy rush periods to maintain excellent customer service, training new employees to uphold quality and efficiency, and handling weekly inventory counts alongside paperwork audits to keep operations compliant and organized. Communication with the General Manager about the operational needs of the store is also a critical part of the role to facilitate timely decision-making and continuous improvement.

This position requires a minimum commitment of 35 hours per week and includes opportunities for full-time employment benefits. JS Fort Group offers competitive compensation along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, vision, dental, life, and disability insurance. Employees receive two weeks (80 hours) of paid time off during the first three years of employment, with increases to 96 hours after three years and 120 hours after five years. Additionally, employees enjoy free meals each shift, tuition reimbursement eligibility after six months, and participation in retirement planning through Illinois Secure Choice.

Joining JS Fort Group as an Assistant Manager offers a dynamic work environment within the successful and well-established Jimmy John's franchise system. You will gain valuable leadership experience in retail food service, develop your skills in employee management and operational oversight, and contribute to a brand recognized for its commitment to freshness, quality, and customer satisfaction. This independent franchise values integrity, team collaboration, and a passion for excellent service, making it an ideal workplace for someone eager to take the next step in their management career in the food industry.
