The role of Assistant Manager at KFC is vital to the smooth operation and success of the restaurant. This position supports the Restaurant General Manager (RGM) by ensuring the team consistently meets brand standards and delivers exceptional customer experiences. As an Assistant Manager, you will play a key leadership role by managing daily operations, providing coaching and training for team members, and inspiring a culture of high performance and accountability. The role involves a close partnership with the RGM, especially when it comes to decision-making in their absence, ensuring seamless operations across all shifts.

Working as an Assistant Manager is both challenging and rewarding. You will be working a 48-hour week with 40 hours at regular pay and 8 hours compensated at time and a half. Your duties will encompass overseeing food safety compliance, managing team dynamics, assisting with recruitment and hiring, and actively participating in financial management aspects like cash control, security procedures, labor management, and inventory maintenance. Your leadership will influence team morale and guest satisfaction, making this a strategic role in driving the restaurant’s overall success.

Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • 2+ years of restaurant or retail management experience
  • Assist with profit and loss management by following cash control and security procedures, maintaining inventory, managing labor, and reviewing financial reports
  • Ensure all employees receive proper training and resources
  • Champion KFC's culture and values, promoting equity, inclusion, and belonging in the restaurant
  • Lead efforts in individual and team recognition, collaboration, and motivation
  • Identify and recruit exceptional talent, supporting the RGM in the hiring process
  • Possess strong communication skills for conducting performance appraisals, taking disciplinary action, and motivating and training employees
  • Adhere to corporate policies, procedures, and occupational health and food safety standards

Job Duties

  • Ensure consistent customer satisfaction by effectively modeling the KFC Connect Success Routine and prioritizing customer needs
  • Oversee team members' adherence to shift responsibilities and maintain high food safety standards
  • Take charge of restaurant operations in the RGM's absence
  • Collaborate with the RGM in assessing team performance and provide ongoing constructive and positive feedback
  • Address employee relations issues as they arise, determining immediate resolutions or escalating to the RGM when necessary
  • Assist in sourcing, recruiting, interviewing, and hiring team members while driving a culture of equity, inclusion, and belonging
  • Assist with profit and loss management including cash control, security procedures, inventory maintenance, and labor management
  • Review financial reports and take appropriate actions to optimize performance
  • Support the RGM in maintenance of facility and ensure health and safety standards are consistently followed
