Job Description

Panda Express is the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States, founded in 1983 in Glendale, California. With nearly 2,800 locations globally, Panda Express has become a leader in the fast-casual dining industry, committed to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences. The company prides itself on its strong family values, professional development programs, and community involvement. Panda Express fosters a supportive environment where employees are encouraged to grow both personally and professionally, offering paid leadership training, mentorship, and ongoing career development opportunities. Joining Panda Express means becoming part of a community that cares about your success and strives to make a positive impact in the communities where it operates.

The Assistant Manager role at Panda Express plays a vital part in the store’s operations, responsible for driving the store's success through leadership and management of daily activities. This position requires overseeing the hiring, training, and direction of associates to ensure the achievement of financial goals and the delivery of exceptional guest experiences. Assistant Managers are supported by a comprehensive three or more weeks of paid leadership training to prepare them for success. This hands-on training equips leaders with the skills needed for managing store operations effectively, maintaining high food safety and quality standards, and fostering a positive work environment. The role also demands flexibility, as managers must be prepared to work varied schedules, including weekends, and may work in different stores within a 50-mile radius.

This position offers a generous compensation package, including bonus opportunities, medical, vision, and dental insurance for full-time associates, and numerous other benefits. Employees receive free meals while working, access to a 401K plan with company match, paid time off, and paid holidays. Additional benefits include discounts at theme parks and gyms, bereavement leave, a leave share program, continuous education assistance, and scholarships. Panda Express emphasizes the well-being and growth of its employees by offering income protection insurance, associate referral bonuses, and ongoing career and leadership development programs.

Work in this role involves operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where physical stamina is required. Assistant Managers must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work efficiently under potentially stressful conditions. Effective communication skills and adaptability to changing priorities are essential for resolving conflicts and maintaining a productive work atmosphere. Panda Express is committed to equal opportunity employment and provides accommodations to applicants with disabilities during the hiring process.

Working as an Assistant Manager at Panda Express is an opportunity to build a career with a respected industry leader devoted to employee growth, community impact, and exceptional customer service.
