Job Description

Valvoline Instant Oil Change (VIOC) is a leading automotive service provider known for its fast, high-quality oil change and preventive maintenance services. With a strong commitment to customer satisfaction and operational excellence, VIOC operates a nationwide network of service centers dedicated to delivering a superior automotive experience. Valvoline's reputation for reliability and innovation has established it as a trusted name in the automotive industry, focused on providing convenient and efficient service to drivers across the country. The company embraces diversity and inclusiveness, actively fostering a welcoming workspace for employees of varied backgrounds, including people of color, women, LGBTQIA+, veterans, and persons with disabilities, affirming its dedication to equal opportunity employment and community representation.

The role of Assistant Service Center Manager (ASCM) at Valvoline Instant Oil Change is a vital leadership position within the service center team. As the right hand to the Service Center Manager, the ASCM plays an essential role in building and leading a high-performance team focused on distinguishing VIOC's service experience from competitors. This hands-on position involves not only direct automotive service work, such as performing oil changes and additional maintenance on vehicles, but also key managerial responsibilities including advising, training, and supervising hourly employees. The ASCM is pivotal in fostering a positive and professional environment, ensuring each guest receives a warm, friendly greeting and a memorable service experience that encourages repeat business and brand loyalty.

This position requires a strong balance of technical automotive knowledge, leadership acumen, and customer service skills. The Assistant Service Center Manager supports operational excellence by assisting with inventory control, labor management, and financial performance of the service center. Safety is a fundamental focus, with adherence to Environmental, Health & Safety compliance and maintaining a clean, organized, and secure workplace. VIOC values continuous improvement and professional development, offering paid on-the-job training with no prior automotive experience needed, tuition assistance, and access to a free online university to support career growth.

Employees enjoy a competitive starting wage of $20.25 per hour along with a flexible schedule that avoids late evenings and holidays, prioritizing work-life balance. Additional benefits include paid time off and holiday pay, comprehensive medical and prescription drug coverage with Health Savings Account contributions, dental and vision plans, a 401(k) saving plan with a 100% match up to 5%, and back-up care for children and elders. Company-provided uniforms and tools along with a 50% discount on Valvoline Instant Oil Change services further enhance the overall compensation package.

Valvoline Instant Oil Change is committed to promoting from within, providing a clear roadmap for career advancement and recognizing internal talent. The ASCM role is both a challenging and rewarding leadership opportunity, ideal for individuals eager to develop their managerial skills and automotive expertise within a supportive and growth-oriented environment. VIOC's inclusive culture, industry-leading training programs, and dedication to safety make it an excellent workplace for committed professionals seeking a dynamic career path in automotive service management.
