Job Requirements

  • Minimum two years of restaurant management experience in a fast-paced environment
  • ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy, physically demanding environment
  • capacity to work 50 to 60 hours per week, with occasional periods over 60 hours
  • able to stand 90 percent of work time
  • able to sit 10 percent of work time
  • required use of all sensory capabilities including vision, hearing, taste, smell, touch, and speech
  • physical abilities including walking, bending, kneeling, handling, flexibility, stretching, squatting, crawling, lifting, climbing, and crouching
  • able to regularly lift up to 70 pounds and occasionally more than 35 pounds
  • clear communication in the primary language of the restaurant (primarily English)
  • precise hearing capability with correction
  • corrected vision of 20/20
  • reliable transportation for occasional travel to deliveries, other locations, or company meetings

Job Duties

  • Guarantee a high-quality operation
  • manage team members
  • advocate for a team environment
  • provide a positive experience and atmosphere for team members, managers, and guests
  • ensure fast and friendly service according to McAlister's guidelines
  • ensure consistent high-quality food production
  • direct overall activities and performance of team members during shifts
  • monitor and ensure appropriate guest service steps and delivery of McAlister's Touch
  • promote positive guest relations
  • oversee cleanliness and maintenance of equipment and restaurant interior and exterior
  • organize repairs, contracts, and services
  • follow standards as described in policy and operations manuals
  • review financial information such as sales and costs with the General Manager
  • oversee budgeting and take corrective actions for budget deviations
  • maintain and control restaurant assets
  • supervise inventory for waste and theft
  • perform line checks to ensure standards
  • complete daily paperwork and projects timely
  • comply with cash control policies and ensure staff compliance
  • proactively schedule labor and react to business needs
  • perform food and beverage inventory and cost calculations
  • occasionally place food and beverage orders
  • sometimes lead kitchen activities and back-of-house team performance
  • provide accurate information to support center and area director
  • recruit, train, motivate, and evaluate team members
  • foster positive relationships with team and managers
  • support open-door policy
  • develop team members
  • ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • demonstrate and inspire high morale and motivation
  • help conduct team meetings for menu planning, events, information sharing, and training
  • communicate effectively with other managers
  • show daily involvement and sensitivity to build credibility
