The Assistant Manager role at McAlister's Deli is a pivotal position responsible for supporting the General Manager by overseeing daily restaurant operations to ensure smooth, efficient, and profitable activities. Job Requirements

  • Minimum two years of restaurant management experience in a fast-paced environment
  • ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy, physically demanding environment
  • capacity to work 50 to 60 hours per week, with occasional periods over 60 hours
  • able to stand 90 percent of work time
  • able to sit 10 percent of work time
  • required use of all sensory capabilities including vision, hearing, taste, smell, touch, and speech
  • physical abilities including walking, bending, kneeling, handling, flexibility, stretching, squatting, crawling, lifting, climbing, and crouching
  • able to regularly lift up to 70 pounds and occasionally more than 35 pounds
  • clear communication in the primary language of the restaurant (primarily English)
  • precise hearing capability with correction
  • corrected vision of 20/20
  • reliable transportation for occasional travel to deliveries, other locations, or company meetings

  • supervise inventory for waste and theft
  • perform line checks to ensure standards
  • complete daily paperwork and projects timely
  • comply with cash control policies and ensure staff compliance
  • proactively schedule labor and react to business needs
  • perform food and beverage inventory and cost calculations
  • occasionally place food and beverage orders
  • sometimes lead kitchen activities and back-of-house team performance
  • provide accurate information to support center and area director
  • recruit, train, motivate, and evaluate team members
  • foster positive relationships with team and managers
