Job Description
Flynn Group, founded by Greg Flynn in 1999, began with the acquisition of eight Applebee's restaurants and has since expanded dramatically into the largest Applebee's franchisee worldwide. Over the past two decades, Flynn Group has grown by both building new stores and acquiring other franchise operators. Today, Flynn Group boasts over 460 Applebee's locations spanning 24 states. This impressive growth is not just limited to Applebee's; Flynn Group has diversified its portfolio to include other premier brands such as Arby's, Panera Bread, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Wendy's, and Planet Fitness. As the largest franchise operator globally, Flynn Group focuses on maintaining high operational standards and delivering superior guest experiences across all its brands.
Flynn Applebee's operates as one of seven flagship brands within Flynn Group's extensive portfolio. With a steadfast commitment to being the premier operator within each brand, Flynn Group emphasizes core values like caring genuinely for people, playing like champions, and winning together as one team. These principles guide all their operations, fostering a cohesive culture and dedication to excellence.
The Assistant Manager position at Flynn Applebee's offers a dynamic and engaging role centered on day-to-day restaurant operations. As an Assistant Manager, you will play a crucial leadership role in not only ensuring guests receive timely and friendly service but also in motivating and developing the restaurant team. This position requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to handle stress effectively, and a passion for creating excellent guest and staff experiences. While the job entails hard work, it also offers an enjoyable and rewarding environment where teamwork and personal growth are highly valued.
The role is comprehensive, covering a wide range of responsibilities from managing staff schedules and maintaining inventory to upholding safety and sanitation standards. You will actively engage with guests to address any concerns promptly, ensuring their experience exceeds expectations. Additionally, you will lead efforts to maintain store organization, cleanliness, and smooth operational workflows.
Leadership development is a core component of this role. You will be responsible for training new team members, conducting performance evaluations, and providing ongoing coaching and feedback. Utilizing Flynn Applebee's Management Development Program, Assistant Managers continuously enhance their leadership capabilities and operational proficiency.
Physical demands of the role include the ability to stand and move briskly for extended periods, work varied shifts including weekends, and safely handle items weighing up to 50 pounds. Flexibility in working all restaurant positions including line cooking, bartending, and guest seating when needed is also key to this role.
Flynn Group prides itself on being an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity, inclusion, and providing reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities. Joining Flynn Applebee's means becoming part of a premier team that values hard work, mutual respect, and continuous improvement. This career opportunity allows motivated individuals to grow professionally within a respected industry leader and contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences every day.
