Job Description

This job posting is for a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee, not Del Taco LLC, meaning that the franchisee, rather than Del Taco LLC, will be your direct employer. The independent franchisee manages all employment-related matters, including hiring, firing, discipline, wages, supervision, staffing, and scheduling. As such, employment decisions and job requirements will be governed by the franchisee's policies.

Del Taco is a nationally recognized fast-food restaurant brand known for its fresh and innovative Mexican-inspired menu offerings. This specific restaurant operates under an independent franchise model, allowing the franchisee to tailor operations to the local market while maintaining the high standards and brand identity associated with Del Taco. The position offered is a management role responsible for protecting and delivering the Del Taco brand, growing sales, and maximizing restaurant efficiency and profitability.

The manager will lead by example with the General Manager or assume the lead management role to uphold the Del Taco Way. The role focuses on staff leadership, operational excellence, brand standards compliance, and commercial success. You will be instrumental in recruiting, hiring, and retaining passionate team members who align with the company’s culture of continuous learning, service orientation, teamwork, and fun. Your leadership will help foster a strong, motivated team committed to exceeding customer expectations while delivering a consistent and memorable experience.

You will uphold Del Taco's standards by ensuring adherence to processes and systems at all times. Maintenance of the restaurant's facilities and equipment will also be under your purview, ensuring a clean and safe environment for both customers and employees. Quality control is critical, as you will be responsible for delivering products that meet the brand's high standards consistently.

This role supports the General Manager in driving sales by aligning staffing with business needs, increasing customer traffic and average check amounts, and executing local marketing initiatives. Awareness of the local competitive landscape is essential to identify opportunities and tailor marketing efforts effectively. Operational efficiency includes managing payroll effectively, complying with labor laws, controlling inventory, handling cash procedures accurately, and overseeing vendor services to minimize costs while maintaining service quality.

Additionally, you will play a key role in reinforcing safety, health, and cleanliness standards, contributing directly to a positive customer and employee experience. Your responsibilities will also include performance evaluations, salary recommendations, disciplinary actions, and supporting team growth and development.

Employment is "at-will," emphasizing that continued employment is subject to satisfactory performance and compliance with company policies. Del Taco values equal employment opportunity and is committed to fostering a workplace that respects diversity, inclusion, and dignity free from discrimination or harassment. This role requires strong leadership skills, operational expertise, and a dedication to the Del Taco brand and its customers.

In summary, this position is vital for the success of the restaurant by balancing people leadership, brand management, sales growth, and operational controls. It offers a dynamic and rewarding environment for motivated management professionals looking to make a significant impact within an established and expanding restaurant brand.
