Physical requirements include the ability to work various shifts including weekends, stand and move for extended periods, safely lift weights up to 50 pounds, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity. The position offers a dynamic work environment where the Assistant Manager must be versatile enough to assist in any team member capacity such as cooking, bartending, or hosting when needed. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • At least 2-3 years restaurant management experience
  • Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol certifications are a plus

  • knowledge of safety, sanitation and inventory management
  • proficiency in scheduling and employee development
  • familiarity with company policies and local regulations

Job Duties

  • Ensures timely, friendly service according to company guidelines, achieving established objectives of the unit
  • cultivates a culture in accordance with the Flynn Applebee's Premier Card of core values and beliefs
  • ensures the immediate response and correction of all verbal guest complaints to self and staff
  • ensures guest contact as a priority with completion of required table visits
  • maintains departmental inventory levels
  • ensures product preparation and presentation meets company standards by performing line checks
  • effectively schedules employees to meet sales demands
  • maintains effective safety and security programs
  • promotes and leads restaurant organization, cleanliness and sanitation
  • performs routine maintenance and reports needed repairs
  • promotes quality recruitment and referrals of potential team members and management candidates
  • promotes Flynn Applebee's training procedures for new managers
  • helps maintain a trained staff through orientation, training sessions, meetings and implementation of company policies
  • participates in employee development and performance evaluations
  • assesses employee efficiency and provides regular feedback
  • monitors employee performance and documents disciplinary situations
  • assures compliance with company policies and practices
  • controls costs in assigned department
  • complies with local, state and federal laws
  • conducts bi-weekly or weekly food and liquor inventories at management's request
  • prepares and submits accurate daily paperwork
  • assures sanitation standards meet or exceed Health Department and company standards
  • provides a role model for managers and employees
  • develops self on store technology
  • willing and able to work in all positions and assist as team member when needed
  • uses Management Development Program for continuous leadership growth
