Job Description

Flynn Group's primary mission is to be the premier operator within each of these brands by adhering to its core values: Care Genuinely for People, Play like a Champion, and Win as One.\n\nAs an Applebee's Assistant Manager, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring both guests and staff have an exceptional experience. This role involves leading a team, resolving problems efficiently, managing stress effectively, and maintaining a positive and energetic work environment. While the role demands hard work, it promises a rewarding and enjoyable experience.\n\nKey responsibilities include ensuring timely and friendly service that meets company standards, cultivating a positive culture aligned with Flynn Applebee's core values, addressing and resolving guest complaints promptly, and prioritizing guest engagement during their visits. You'll manage inventory levels, oversee product preparation and presentation, schedule employees to meet sales demands, and maintain safety and security protocols. Additionally, you'll promote cleanliness and sanitation, perform routine maintenance checks, and report any needed repairs to higher management.\n\nThe Assistant Manager also plays a critical role in recruitment and training, promoting the Flynn Applebee's training procedures for new managers and helping to develop staff through individual training sessions, meetings, and performance evaluations. You'll regularly assess employee performance, provide constructive feedback, handle disciplinary actions when necessary, and ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations. You will be responsible for cost control, completing food and liquor inventories on schedule, and submitting accurate daily paperwork. Ensuring sanitation standards meet or exceed health department and Flynn Applebee's requirements is a must.\n\nThis role requires versatility, with the Assistant Manager willing and able to work in various positions within the restaurant, including line cooking, expo, seating guests, and bartending when necessary. Continuous leadership growth is supported by the Management Development Program, which the Assistant Manager is encouraged to utilize.
Job Requirements
- At least 2-3 years restaurant management experience
- Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol certifications a plus
- ability to work various shifts including weekends
- ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 10 hours
- ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds
- ability to read and write to facilitate communication
- finger and hand dexterity for using small tools and equipment
Job Qualifications
- At least 2-3 years restaurant management experience
- Serve Safe Food certification a plus
- Serve Safe Alcohol certification a plus
- strong leadership and communication skills
- ability to handle stress and problem solve
- experience in team training and development
