Job Description
Flynn Group, founded by Greg Flynn, initiated its journey in 1999 with the acquisition of eight Applebee's restaurants. Over the last two decades, Flynn Group has expanded significantly by constructing new stores and acquiring other franchise operators, becoming the largest Applebee's franchisee globally. With a strong presence of over 460 Applebee's restaurants spread across 24 states, Flynn Group has leveraged this solid foundation to diversify its operations by expanding into various other brands, countries, and industries. This growth has positioned Flynn Group as the largest franchise operator in the world with a diversified portfolio that includes iconic and world-class brands such as Applebee's, Arby's, Panera Bread, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Wendy's, and Planet Fitness.
Flynn Applebee's stands as one of the seven premier brands under the Flynn Group umbrella. The company is committed to being a premier operator within each brand it manages through a mission grounded in core values: care genuinely for people, play like a champion, and win as one. These values drive the company's culture and operational excellence.
The role of an Applebee's Assistant Manager at Flynn Group involves engaging in all facets of daily restaurant operations to enhance guest and staff experiences. The Assistant Manager is a vital team leader who must be an excellent problem solver, capable of managing stress and rising above challenges. Success in this role means not only working hard but enjoying the dynamic and rewarding environment of the restaurant industry.
Responsibilities include ensuring timely and friendly service following company standards, cultivating a positive culture aligned with Flynn Applebee's core values, and promptly addressing guest complaints. The Assistant Manager also focuses on maintaining inventory levels, ensuring food preparation and presentation meet strict company standards, scheduling staff effectively to meet business demands, and upholding safety and sanitation programs.
Further duties include promoting cleanliness, performing routine maintenance reporting, recruiting and training staff, and ongoing employee development through evaluations and feedback. The position requires compliance with company policies, cost control measures, legal regulations, and documentation responsibilities like inventory and daily reporting.
A unique aspect of the role is the expectation that the Assistant Manager will be versatile and ready to fill in various positions as needed, including cooking, seating guests, bartending, and other team member roles. This flexibility supports continuous leadership growth through the Management Development Program.
Compensation for this position ranges from $20.98 to $27.27 per hour, translating approximately to $60,000 to $78,000 annually based on a 50-hour work week, with the potential for monthly bonuses depending on location. Flynn Group offers competitive wages, profit sharing/bonus opportunities, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with matching contributions, paid vacation, and paid sick leave to its employees.
Physical requirements for the job include the ability to work variable shifts including weekends, stand and move for up to ten hours, lift weights up to 50 pounds safely, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity. Flynn Group values diversity and inclusion and is an equal opportunity employer committed to providing reasonable accommodations in the application process and employment.
Join Flynn Group and become part of a dynamic team dedicated to exceptional service, employee development, and operational excellence within some of the most prestigious restaurant and fitness brands worldwide.
