Job Description
This job opening is for the position of Assistant Manager at a well-established restaurant that prioritizes excellence in all areas of its operations. The restaurant is dedicated to creating a superior customer experience by aligning with company guest service standards, ensuring compliance with safety and security policies, and achieving fiscal goals. This establishment is known for its commitment to team development and operational integrity, making it an appealing workplace for aspiring leaders who are passionate about the restaurant industry.
As an Assistant Manager, your primary responsibility will be to assist in the overall management of restaurant operations. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring adherence to company guest service standards, auditing and administrative tasks, human resource management, safety and security policies, and overall leadership in restaurant team training and development. The role requires a hands-on approach to achieving 100% customer satisfaction and complete compliance with government regulations such as food safety, Department of Labor regulations, and company in-store image standards.
In this role, the Assistant Manager will play a crucial part in securing the company assets with integrity, which encompasses cash, equipment, and inventory management as per company policy. You will assist in recruiting, training, and developing a strong team, creating and maintaining a positive and motivating work environment that fosters employee growth and engagement. Furthermore, you will take part in conducting employee performance reviews, providing feedback, recognizing achievements, and administering constructive disciplinary actions when necessary.
Serving customers is at the heart of the Assistant Manager's responsibilities. You will lead by example to ensure the restaurant consistently meets or exceeds company standards, resolving guest complaints effectively through proven methods such as the BLAST approach. Tracking and managing financial controls, including labor, food costs, supplies, audits, and cash management, are integral parts of this leadership role.
Operational excellence is a key focus, with duties such as developing CORE behaviors and standards, ensuring compliance with training and safety procedures, maintaining cleanliness and preventive maintenance schedules, and maintaining necessary records to meet health inspections and sanitation standards. Collaboration with the Restaurant General Manager (RGM), District Manager, HR, and vendors ensures smooth daily operations and timely resolution of issues.
This position requires a high level of personal effectiveness, organization, collaboration, management skills, and analytical abilities. Candidates should be prepared to take ownership of their responsibilities, lead with positivity, and pursue problem-solving decisively. This role is ideal for candidates who have at least one year of restaurant management experience, preferably in a quick-service restaurant (QSR) environment, and hold a high school diploma or equivalent. Food safety certification as per local requirements is essential, as is reliable transportation and a valid driver's license for roles that require driving.
Overall, the Assistant Manager position provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of a restaurant known for its strong guest focus and effective team leadership. The role combines operational, financial, human resource, and customer service responsibilities, offering a comprehensive management experience within the dynamic restaurant industry.
