The role of Maintenance Technician at Case is a critical position responsible for preparing apartments for new residents and addressing ongoing maintenance needs throughout the property. This full-time position involves a variety of maintenance tasks, ranging from light repairs to more complex projects such as plumbing, carpentry, painting, and appliance maintenance. The Maintenance Technician will also assist the Lead Maintenance Technician with additional responsibilities as needed, ensuring that all maintenance requests are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
A Maintenance Technician is entrusted with both routine and extraordinary maintenance duties on-site, including work in leasing offices, laundry rooms, clubhouses, model units, pool areas, and fencing. They will handle maintenance of pool and jacuzzi systems, including chemical checks, cleaning, and system repairs. The role demands a proactive approach to property upkeep, including performing seasonal snow removal and ice-melt application during inclement weather. Ordering and managing maintenance supplies, in coordination with the Property Manager, is also part of the job.
This position requires a strong understanding of a broad range of repair and maintenance skills. The Maintenance Technician must be capable of managing tasks such as gutter replacement, parking lot repairs, light electrical work, and carpet repair or replacement. The role often involves physical labor that demands the ability to lift heavy objects, use ladders, and move large appliances safely. Job Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Six months related experience including light electrical and plumbing
- Ability to read, speak, and understand English for business purposes
- Ability to read and write instructions, correspondence, and service requests
- Professional communication with residents, co-workers, and vendors
- Availability for on-call duties
- Successful completion of pre-employment background check including criminal record search, employment verification, and drug screen
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months related experience including light electrical and plumbing
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic knowledge of maintenance tools and safety procedures
- Valid driver’s license
Job Duties
- Completing light maintenance repairs to prepare apartments for new residents
- Completing maintenance requests on occupied apartments including plumbing repairs and replacements, major appliance repairs, interior and exterior carpentry, painting, and roof repairs
- Performing maintenance in leasing office, clubhouse, laundry rooms, models, pool areas, and property fences
- Maintaining pool and jacuzzi areas including chemical checks, cleaning, and system repairs
- Assessing extraordinary maintenance required for the property such as replacing guttering, parking lot repairs, outside lighting repair, patio and privacy fences repair and replacement, and carpet damage assessment
- Depositing ice-melt and shoveling snow as necessary during inclement weather
- Ordering maintenance materials, supplies, and products with approval of Property Manager
- Relaying or repairing carpeting
- Assuming responsibilities of Lead Maintenance Technician when necessary
- Completing all job-related tasks as assigned by Property Manager or Property Supervisor
