This position is essential to maintaining the appeal and functionality of apartments and the overall community facilities. The Maintenance Technician is primarily responsible for preparing apartments for new residents, ensuring that units meet the company’s standards for cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness. They will perform a broad range of maintenance tasks including light electrical and plumbing repairs, appliance servicing, carpentry, painting, and more specialized projects such as roof repairs and pool system maintenance.\n\nThis role also requires collaboration with the Lead Maintenance Technician and the Property Manager to address ongoing maintenance requests from current residents, maintain the leasing office and common areas, and address seasonal responsibilities such as snow removal. Being a Maintenance Technician at Case means not only reacting to repair needs but actively contributing to the upkeep and improvement of the property, including assessing damage that requires extraordinary maintenance or replacement and ordering necessary supplies with managerial approval.\n\nWorking with Case offers competitive pay starting at $17 per hour, depending on experience, along with extensive benefits including health insurance, rent discounts, paid holidays, vacation and sick time, disability coverage, life insurance, 401(k) plans, and performance and safety bonuses. Job Requirements

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • six months related experience including light electrical and plumbing
  • HVAC certification required
  • must be able to read, speak, and understand English for business purposes
  • must be able to read and write instructions, short correspondence, memos, service requests, and converse professionally
  • available for on-call
  • must pass pre-employment background investigation including criminal record search, employment verification, and drug screen

Job Duties

  • Completing light maintenance repairs to prepare apartments for new residents
  • Completing maintenance requests on occupied apartments including plumbing repairs and replacements, major appliance repairs, interior and exterior carpentry, painting, and roof repairs
  • Performing maintenance in leasing office, clubhouse, laundry rooms, models, pool areas, and property fences
  • Maintaining pool and Jacuzzi areas including chemical checks, cleaning, and repairs to the system
  • Assessing extraordinary maintenance required for the property such as replacing guttering, parking lot repairs, repairing outside lighting, repairing and replacing patio and privacy fences, determining carpet damage
  • Depositing ice-melt and shoveling snow as necessary during inclement weather
  • Ordering maintenance materials, supplies, and products for the property with the approval of the Property Manager
  • Relaying or repairing carpeting
  • Assuming the responsibilities of a Lead Maintenance Technician when necessary
  • Completing all job-related tasks assigned by Property Manager or Property Supervisor
