This role is a full-time position with benefits, generally working Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., totaling a standard 35-hour work week. The Assistant Kitchen Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring that food preparation and service meet both quality and safety guidelines. This role requires someone with hands-on cooking abilities and prior commercial kitchen experience. The Assistant Kitchen Manager works closely with the Kitchen Manager and other team members to maintain an organized kitchen station, efficiently prepare meals, and comply with health and safety regulations. A key part of this role includes becoming Serve-Safe Certified, which ensures compliance with food safety standards and practices. The candidate must also be able to pass a background check and participate in random drug testing, reflecting the trust and responsibility placed on this position within the school community. Physical capability is essential, as lifting up to 30 lbs and maintaining a steady, efficient workflow on busy days are part of the daily routine. Additionally, basic computer skills are necessary for inventory management, reporting, and communication tasks.

The ideal candidate should possess traits such as honesty, reliability, and excellent organizational skills alongside a strong work ethic. Since the role involves close collaboration with kitchen staff and school administrators, good communication skills and a positive attitude are also highly valued.
