Job Description

Burrito Gallery is a dynamic and fast-growing restaurant brand known for its fresh, innovative approach to Mexican cuisine. With a commitment to quality, community, and guest satisfaction, Burrito Gallery prides itself on delivering exceptional food experiences in a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. As a restaurant rooted in freshness and flavor, the company emphasizes sustainable sourcing, culinary creativity, and meticulous attention to detail to differentiate itself in a competitive marketplace. Burrito Gallery operates multiple locations and maintains a strong focus on training, team development, and operational excellence to ensure that every guest visit is memorable and enjoyable.

The Assistant Kitchen Manager role at Burrito Gallery is a pivotal position responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations to maintain the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This role requires a passionate culinary leader who can manage food purchasing, preparation, sanitation, and employee training effectively to uphold the company's mission. The Assistant Kitchen Manager works closely with kitchen staff and restaurant management to ensure that food is consistently prepared to exacting recipes and presentation standards while controlling costs and minimizing waste.

In this role, you will be expected to enforce rigorous sanitation and cleanliness standards, including managing cleaning schedules for all kitchen surfaces, equipment, and storage areas. You will monitor food quality and temperature control points to guarantee compliance with health regulations and internal standards. Additionally, you will contribute to menu development by collaborating with restaurant managers to plan and price menu items, establish portion sizes, and create standard recipe cards for new dishes.

A critical aspect of this role is managing kitchen personnel—scheduling staff to meet demand, training employees in cooking methods and safety protocols, and overseeing performance reviews and disciplinary actions. You will take part in hiring decisions, orient new employees, and foster a collaborative and productive kitchen environment. The Assistant Kitchen Manager also ensures all equipment is maintained in excellent working condition and coordinates with vendors and sales representatives for timely ordering and receiving of supplies.

This position requires a hands-on approach; you will occasionally prepare and cook food, demonstrate new cooking techniques to staff, and supervise daily kitchen activities across potentially multiple locations. You will also manage administrative duties such as preparing reports, schedules, and paperwork necessary for smooth kitchen operations. Collaboration with front-of-house staff is essential to meet guest expectations and maintain efficient restaurant operations.

Working as an Assistant Kitchen Manager at Burrito Gallery means playing a key role in delivering a high-quality dining experience by ensuring operational standards are met and exceeded every day. This full-time position offers the opportunity to grow your culinary leadership skills within a vibrant, supportive, and fast-paced environment that values innovation, teamwork, and excellence. If you are a motivated culinary professional seeking to contribute to a growing brand while leading a talented kitchen team, this role offers an exciting challenge and rewarding career path.
