Job Description
Common Man Roadside is a vibrant dining establishment located in the bustling downtown Manchester area, specifically within the historic Millyard. As part of the Uncommon Family, a group known for its dedication to quality food and community involvement, Common Man Roadside has built a strong reputation as a beloved local restaurant that combines comfort food with excellent service and a welcoming atmosphere. Our Tru Hotel location offers a unique opportunity to be part of a growing and dynamic team in a prime location. We pride ourselves on fostering a supportive workplace where creativity, teamwork, and customer satisfaction are paramount. The environment is energetic yet inclusive, prioritizing both employee development and guest experience in equal measure.
We are currently seeking an Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our team at the Tru Hotel location in Manchester's historic Millyard. This role is essential in supporting the Kitchen Manager and their team by ensuring smooth operations and maintaining high performance within the kitchen. As an Assistant Kitchen Manager, you will be a working manager, actively involved in daily kitchen operations including food preparation, employee training, and customer interaction. This position offers an annual salary range of $50,000 to $55,000, depending on experience, highlighting the importance we place on skilled culinary leadership in our company.
The Assistant Kitchen Manager will take charge of several key operational responsibilities such as overseeing food production planning and preparation to ensure consistency and quality. Inventory management and ordering are also critical components of this role, requiring attention to detail and strong organizational skills. The position demands diligent completion of daily administrative tasks including paperwork, reporting, and maintaining logs, all while upholding stringent safety and sanitation standards. Employee management is a vital aspect of the role, encompassing scheduling, training, and the professional development of kitchen staff.
This role is hands-on—managers are expected to work alongside the team on the line and during food prep, providing guidance and fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement. The ability to lead by example and offer hands-on training empowers the staff and helps maintain high standards in every aspect of kitchen operations. Furthermore, the Assistant Kitchen Manager plays a significant role in the customer experience by assisting guests when needed, demonstrating the company’s commitment to hospitality.
Working at Common Man Roadside offers unique benefits that set us apart within the Uncommon Family. We provide flexible scheduling options including full-time and part-time opportunities, catering to diverse lifestyle needs. Even though prior experience is preferred, we are excited to train the right candidates with a passion for culinary arts and leadership. Additional perks include free shift meals, discounts at our locations and affiliates, and a competitive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan with company match. We also emphasize community involvement by offering paid volunteer hours, enabling our employees to give back to the local community.
Our commitment to career development ensures that team members have pathways to advance within the company, supported by various incentive programs such as employee referral bonuses and performance-based incentives. Joining our team means becoming part of a supportive, fun, and growing workplace where your skills contribute directly to the success of the restaurant and the satisfaction of our guests. If you are looking for a fulfilling culinary management role with a company that values its people and community, Common Man Roadside is the perfect place for you.
