Job Description
Chick-fil-A is a renowned fast-food restaurant chain known for its exceptional customer service, quality food, and community involvement. Many Chick-fil-A restaurants are independently owned and operated by franchised business owners who prioritize teamwork, leadership development, and a positive work environment. The company is dedicated to investing in its team members' growth and providing a rewarding career path within the hospitality industry. Chick-fil-A fosters a people-focused culture, emphasizing the importance of serving guests with excellence and maintaining high operational standards. Working at Chick-fil-A offers more than just a job – it’s a chance to be part of a supportive team that values commitment, professionalism, and personal development.
The Back of House Assistant Manager role at Chick-fil-A is a critical leadership position responsible for managing all kitchen operations. This includes overseeing food quality, safety, inventory management, and controlling food costs to ensure customers receive safe, high-quality food in a timely manner. The role supports the vision set by the Back of House Director(s) and plays an integral part in maintaining a clean, efficient, and productive kitchen environment.
As a Back of House Assistant Manager, you will lead and develop the kitchen team by enforcing company policies and procedures, nurturing a positive and collaborative work environment, and holding team members accountable for their roles. Your daily responsibilities will include supervising kitchen operations during shifts, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and utilizing the Winning Hearts Everyday strategy to deliver outstanding guest experiences. You will oversee specific areas of kitchen operations, focusing on guest satisfaction, food quality assessments, and training development. Attendance at monthly manager meetings and biweekly feedback sessions with BOH managers are included to promote continuous improvement and alignment of goals.
Financial stewardship is also a key component of this role. The Assistant Manager will monitor productivity, manage break schedules and staffing levels during shifts, and work collaboratively with AM/PM managers to achieve monthly goals while maintaining condiment and dessert gap targets. Team training and development are paramount, making sure that all team members consistently progress through the development program and that trainers adhere to proper procedures.
The position offers both full-time and part-time opportunities with competitive pay ranging from $18.00 to $20.00 per hour. The work schedule includes 8-hour shifts with weekend availability, covering day and night shifts. Employees benefit from flexible scheduling, a fun and positive work environment, scholarship opportunities, and the chance to learn from experienced operators and restaurant leaders. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments, have strong interpersonal skills, and are passionate about customer service and team development. High school education is required, and while prior leadership experience is beneficial, it is not mandatory. Reliable transportation and the ability to work collaboratively with others are necessary for success in this role.
