The role of Assistant Kitchen Manager at Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers/Bourbon & Bones is a crucial leadership position responsible for supporting the Kitchen Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen. Job Requirements

  • Must be eighteen years old
  • Must have a valid Food Handlers Certification
  • Previous experience in culinary leadership roles preferably in high-volume restaurant environments
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced high-pressure environment
  • Physical ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Exposure to extreme heat steam and cold
  • Manual dexterity to cut chop foods and perform kitchen tasks

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in culinary leadership roles such as Jr Sous Chef Kitchen Supervisor or Assistant Kitchen Manager
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations food preparation techniques and industry best practices
  • Excellent understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to motivate coach and develop staff
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Valid Food Handlers Certification
  • Experience using point of sale systems like Aloha and employee scheduling tools such as Hot Schedule

Job Duties

  • Assist the kitchen manager in overseeing daily kitchen operations including food preparation cooking and plating to ensure quality and consistency
  • Support menu development and execution according to recipes and standards
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment following health and safety regulations
  • Train coach and mentor kitchen staff on cooking techniques portion control food safety and equipment usage
  • Manage inventory levels track food costs and minimize waste to meet profitability goals
  • Conduct regular kitchen inspections and address equipment maintenance needs
  • Uphold food quality and presentation standards through regular tasting and evaluation
  • Collaborate with front-of-house team to ensure efficient ticket times and coordination
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Assist in scheduling staff managing labor costs and optimizing productivity
  • Foster a positive work culture promote teamwork and resolve conflicts
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
