Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • must have regular and predictable attendance
  • be open to relocation as part of career progression
  • ability to work days, nights, and weekends as required
  • ability to work in noisy, fast-paced environment with distractions
  • ability to move around the facility and stand for extended periods
  • ability to lift and carry 50-60 pounds
  • ability to read and write handwritten notes

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in kitchen or food service management preferred
  • strong leadership and team management skills
  • knowledge of food safety and quality standards
  • ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • ability to train and develop staff
  • understanding of financial controls related to food cost and labor management

Job Duties

  • Consistently meet or exceed food safety and quality standards to ensure guest satisfaction
  • assist in hiring, training, retaining, and developing promotable employees
  • optimize financial results by controlling costs such as food waste and production
  • execute flight plan when scheduled as Kitchen Manager on duty
  • supervise kitchen shifts fostering energy, teamwork, and morale
  • develop shift goals for ticket times, staff development, and profitability
  • execute opening, pre-closing, and closing procedures according to standards
  • hold staff accountable by providing feedback and performance evaluations
  • manage labor goals by recommending cuts based on volume to maximize productivity
  • maintain safe physical plant and food hygiene environment
  • ensure freshness of all food products through proper purchasing and rotation
  • ensure quality of food through recipe adherence, quality control, and ticket timelines
  • assist Kitchen Manager in setting department goals
  • oversee training programs including MIT and staff hat administration
  • conduct daily recipe and station validation
  • develop certified trainers in the kitchen
  • assist with staff performance evaluations
  • recommend wage increases and terminations to Kitchen Manager
  • follow purchasing guidelines for financial accountability
  • complete required paperwork timely and accurately
  • communicate regularly with staff and Kitchen Manager
  • complete projects assigned by Kitchen Manager
  • assist in follow-up on changes to food products, kitchen systems, and procedures
  • ensure timely completion of kitchen equipment and facility repairs
