The role of Assistant Kitchen Manager at Bubba's 33 is both challenging and rewarding. This position plays a critical role in supporting the Kitchen Manager with daily kitchen operations, ensuring that all food preparation and service standards are met at a high level. The Assistant Kitchen Manager supervises the production of food, assists with ordering and receiving inventory, and ensures compliance with company policies and safety regulations. This hands-on role requires active involvement during peak hours, including ticket monitoring and pacing, as well as participating directly in cooking, serving, and other restaurant functions as needed.

In addition to operational duties, the Assistant Kitchen Manager is responsible for conducting quality checks such as line Taste and Temp checks to maintain food consistency and safety. They manage inventory and waste tracking under the Kitchen Manager's direction and ensure that proper food handling procedures are followed at all times. Maintaining cleanliness, the safety of guests, and the good condition of kitchen equipment are also essential responsibilities. Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in kitchen or restaurant management
  • knowledge of safe food handling procedures
  • ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • strong leadership qualities
  • good communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • basic computer literacy

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Supervises and oversees the production of food
  • in conjunction with all management, enforces compliance with all employment policies in area of responsibility
  • monitors tickets and sets the pace during peak hours
  • manages through hands on supervision of the restaurant including non-scheduled assistance with serving, hosting, cooking
  • conducts formal line Taste and Temp checks
  • ensures proper handling, maintenance, and storage of all items
  • manages inventory and tracks waste at the direction of Kitchen Manager
  • monitors and maintains cleanliness and proper maintenance of equipment directly or through staff
  • ensures consistency in food and service
  • understands and practices safe food handling procedures
  • ensures Back of House employees are following established recipes and procedures
  • creates a safe environment and assists in developing Back of House employees
  • ensures that the cleanliness of the restaurant and safety of our guests are maintained at all times
  • maintains culture of the restaurant and lives core values every day
