Job Description

Outback Steakhouse is a well-known casual dining restaurant chain celebrated for its Australian-themed menu and welcoming atmosphere. As a part of Bloomin' Brands, a global restaurant company, Outback Steakhouse emphasizes creating a fun, inclusive environment where team members—referred to as Outbackers—are encouraged to bring their bold personalities and provide exceptional customer service within a high-standard food service setting. The company prides itself on fostering a workplace where employees feel valued and motivated to contribute to an "Auss-some" dining experience for guests, blending great food with outstanding hospitality. This role is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team at one of the industry’s leading casual dining brands, recognized for its commitment to employee growth and exceptional culinary standards.

The position of Assistant Kitchen Manager at Outback Steakhouse is designed for a leadership-oriented individual who supports the back-of-house operations to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and maintains high-quality food and service standards. This role involves working closely with kitchen staff and management to uphold sanitation, safety, and operational excellence. With limited supervision, the Assistant Kitchen Manager plays a crucial part in reinforcing employment standards consistent with Bloomin' Brands' policies while coaching team members in security procedures, food safety, and preparation methods. The position requires an individual who is passionate about fostering a positive work environment and operational efficiency.

The Assistant Kitchen Manager will be involved in various tasks including coordinating kitchen openings, reviewing nightly close procedures, managing inventory, receiving orders, monitoring food temperatures, and adhering strictly to recipe specifications. This role is essential in maintaining shelf-life adherence and overseeing daily sanitation and health inspections to ensure compliance with food safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a coaching attitude, enjoy helping others to develop their skills, and thrive in maintaining the flow and timeliness of food preparation to consistently deliver excellent cook times and a quality dining experience.

This position offers a compensation range from $15.00 to $22.00 per hour, reflecting the value placed on experienced and proactive candidates who demonstrate leadership and a commitment to operational excellence. Outback Steakhouse also provides a flexible working schedule and encourages applicants who are at least 21 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States. This role is suited for individuals who are certified trainers in back-of-house functions or who have obtained a passing grade in assessment testing related to kitchen operations.

Joining Outback Steakhouse as an Assistant Kitchen Manager means entering a team-oriented environment that values diversity and equal opportunity employment. The company promotes career growth and development while offering competitive employee benefits including medical, dental, vision, and 401k plans. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a challenging yet rewarding role in the restaurant industry where you can have fun, grow professionally, and contribute to making every guest’s experience memorable.
