Job Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Prior experience with large quantity food preparation
- Basic computational skills
- Completion of a food safety training course within 6 months of hire
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple English instructions
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Exercise confidentiality, discretion, and good judgement
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 30 pounds
- Ability to work with public and staff in a busy environment
Job Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Prior experience in large quantity food preparation

- Experience working in a school setting preferred
- Completion of food safety training course within 6 months of hire
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English instructions
- Effective verbal and reactive communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and good judgement
- Ability to adhere to work schedules and maintain punctuality
Job Duties
- Assist the Kitchen Manager in overseeing meal preparation and service
- Develop positive working relationships with learners and staff
- Maintain open communication with building administrators
- Provide training and daily direction to food service employees
- Evaluate work performance of food service workers
- Monitor product quality, portion control and minimize waste
- Conduct weekly inventory of kitchen supplies and manage food rotation
- Clean work area using proper sanitation procedures
- Attend monthly meetings and trainings
- Maintain kitchen facilities and report maintenance issues
- Supervise kitchen staff to ensure safety and quality standards
- Assist with weekly food and supply orders
- Maintain accurate records of daily food sales and meal production
- Perform cashiering duties including handling money and making change
- Assume Kitchen Manager responsibilities in their absence
