Sho-Pai Tribes, also known as Shoshone-Paiute Tribes, is a sovereign tribal government located in Owyhee on the Duck Valley Reservation. The position available is for a full-time Assistant HR Director / Benefits Coordinator based in Owyhee, Nevada. Reporting directly to the Human Resources Director, this role plays a vital part in managing the day-to-day operations of the HR department, focusing especially on recruitment, benefits administration, and various supportive HR functions. The candidate will oversee full recruitment cycles including sourcing and screening candidates, administer employee benefits programs, maintain accurate records, support onboarding processes, and assist with compliance, reporting, and employee engagement initiatives. This role also involves providing guidance in the absence of the Human Resources Director and ensuring seamless HR operations across the organization. With an annual salary range of $75,000 to $88,000 and a comprehensive benefits package, this role is suited for an HR professional passionate about making a difference in a supportive, people-focused workplace. Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business administration, or psychology
- Minimum 3 years of experience in human resources including 2 years of full-cycle recruitment
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness and ability to travel for meetings and organizational needs
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in human resources
- At least 2 years of full-cycle recruitment experience
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities
- Dependable and detail-oriented
- Confidence in handling sensitive information
- Ability to support employee relations and HR projects
- Experience supervising or guiding HR team members
- PHR, SHRM-CP, or THRP certification preferred
Job Duties
- Manage full-cycle recruitment including sourcing, screening, and coordinating interviews
- Administer employee benefits programs and respond to employee inquiries
