Job Description

The hiring establishment is a well-regarded hospitality company located in Sioux Falls, SD, operating within the hotel industry. This organization is committed to providing exceptional guest experiences through the maintenance of clean, safe, and welcoming environments. Known for its adherence to brand standards and high-quality service, the hotel plays a key role in the local tourism and business travel market. With a dedicated team and focus on employee growth and satisfaction, the company values professionalism, teamwork, and a guest-first mentality.

The Assistant Executive Housekeeper role is a vital position within the hotel’s operational framework. This full-time, hourly position offers a competitive starting pay of $18.00 per hour. The Assistant Executive Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and maintenance are upheld throughout the guest rooms and public areas. This role requires hands-on management and direct involvement in daily housekeeping activities, including supervising staff, managing room and hallway cleanings, restocking supplies, and fostering a cooperative team environment.

Employees in this role are expected to maintain meticulous attention to detail, particularly in bathroom sanitation, bed presentation, and overall guest room readiness. They are also charged with maintaining cleanliness in hallways and stairwells, reinforcing the overall aesthetic and hygiene of the property. The Assistant Executive Housekeeper must efficiently manage their time, with expectations to clean guest rooms promptly—25 minutes for check-out rooms and 15 minutes for stayovers—ensuring timely service without compromising quality.

Beyond cleaning duties, the role emphasizes leadership responsibilities, including training, motivating, and managing housekeeping staff. This position demands effective communication and coordination with other hotel departments to align with the hotel's service standards and operational goals. The Assistant Executive Housekeeper will frequently perform inspections and address any deficiencies reported to preserve the brand’s reputation.

This role supports the creation of a safe and secure environment for both guests and employees by adhering to best safety practices, monitoring equipment and inventory conditions, and maintaining compliance with health standards. Physical demands include extended periods of standing and walking, manual handling of supplies, lifting up to 40 pounds, and a variety of movements such as bending, kneeling, and climbing.

The selected candidate will benefit from an attractive package that includes 401(k) retirement plans, dental, health, and vision insurance, paid time off, employee discounts, and a flexible schedule. The position is onsite to provide direct supervision and hands-on leadership during the day and morning shifts.
