The company is known for its commitment to showcasing America's rich history and scenic beauty while providing exceptional hospitality. American Cruise Lines operates a modern and expanding fleet of newly constructed vessels, making it an exciting time to join their dedicated shipboard team. As a leader in the cruise industry, the company upholds core values such as optimism, commitment, patriotism, and merit which foster a culture of excellence and pride among its employees. This reputation for quality service and authentic American cruising experiences makes American Cruise Lines a sought-after employer in maritime hospitality.
The role of Assistant Hotel Manager (AHM) aboard American Cruise Lines vessels is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of guest service and operational excellence within the Hotel Department. Reporting directly to the Hotel Manager, the Assistant Hotel Manager supports the leadership team by supervising key hotel staff, including the Housekeeping Manager and Guest Service Coordinator, and overseeing the consistent delivery of hospitality services ranging from dining and culinary operations to guest services and onboard enrichment activities. This role requires a hands-on leader who can step in as Hotel General Manager during absences and seamlessly assist both the Hotel Manager and Dining Room Manager to maintain flawless service standards. The Assistant Hotel Manager is a visible and approachable presence on the ship at all times during meal services and other guest interactions, ensuring that guests’ needs and expectations are anticipated and promptly met.
In addition to guest satisfaction, the Assistant Hotel Manager oversees crew morale, training, scheduling, and performance assessments, playing a critical role in maintaining high levels of engagement and professionalism among hotel staff. Responsibilities also include managing bar operations, wine and liquor inventories, and ensuring impeccable cleanliness of all public and crew areas. The position demands strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work long hours in a dynamic shipboard environment that experiences constant motion. Candidates must be prepared to live and work onboard the vessel for extended periods, balancing operational demands with creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests and crew alike. This full-time, exempt position offers a competitive daily rate with benefits including health, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) match, and covered expenses such as travel, room, board, uniforms, and training. Joining American Cruise Lines as an Assistant Hotel Manager offers a rewarding career opportunity for hospitality professionals passionate about service excellence and maritime experiences within the unique context of American cruising.
