Buff City Soap is a rapidly growing specialty retailer focused on offering artisan, handcrafted soap products in a vibrant and eco-friendly environment. The role of Buff Care Specialist Team Leader is a pivotal position within the store operations, responsible for overseeing the daily functions of the Buff Care Specialists including Supervisors, Production, and Guest Services team members. This leadership role involves administrative tasks such as ordering supplies, managing inventory, and scheduling staff while also handling HR-related responsibilities like hiring, terminating, and providing feedback and evaluations. The Team Leader is a key-holder and is responsible for opening and closing the store, ensuring smooth operational procedures throughout the day. This position requires someone who can maintain high standards for store operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness, adherence to best practices, and compliance with all legal requirements.
The Team Leader works closely with the Growth & Operations Manager and Growth & Operations Leader to implement strategies that improve overall store performance. They are responsible for purchasing raw materials, managing inventory levels to avoid stock-outs, and overseeing storage efficiency. The role also includes actively participating in the production of all Buff City Soap products, including packaging and labeling, as well as conducting quality controls to make sure that all products uphold the company’s quality standards. Maintaining the store’s appearance is also critical, ensuring it aligns with company guidelines outlined in the Buff City Soap Store Operations, Training & Reference Manual.
In addition to operational duties, the Team Leader plays an essential role in customer service by cheerfully greeting customers, following established guest service protocols, and encouraging team members to adhere to these standards. They must be able to effectively answer questions and educate guests on the benefits and ingredients of Buff City Soap products to enhance customer experience and retention. This role is ideal for someone passionate about quality skincare, sustainability, and leadership, with an ability to motivate and manage a diverse team to meet business goals and deliver exceptional customer service.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum 2 years of supervisory or team leader experience
- prior retail or production experience preferred
- strong organizational skills
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- flexibility to work varied shifts including opening and closing
- reliable and responsible key-holder
- basic computer proficiency

Job Duties
- Lead a team of Buff Care Specialists including production, guest services and supervisors
- schedule, manage and mentor team members
- ensure all store operations are cost effective, utilize best practices and are legally compliant
- assist the Growth & Operations Manager and Growth & Operations Leader with all aspects of daily operations
- assist with implementing strategies to improve store performance
- purchase and manage raw materials and operating supplies, plan inventory and oversee storage efficiency
- engage in making all BCS products including packaging and labeling
- perform quality controls on all products and monitor production levels
- manage store operations and appearance as set forth in the Buff City Soap Store Operations, Training & Reference Manual
- cheerfully greet customers and ensure adherence to guest service interaction guidelines
- answer guest questions and familiarize them with BCS products and their benefits
