The Bradford Rooftop, located atop New Jersey’s only AC Marriott Hotel in Bridgewater, NJ, is a premier year-round indoor and outdoor rooftop bar and lounge. This unique venue offers a refined and distinctive atmosphere where guests can indulge in expertly handcrafted cocktails, locally brewed beers, and thoughtfully curated small plates. The bar features captivating scenic views of the Watchung Mountain Range, accompanied by an outdoor fire pit, making it an ideal spot for both casual gatherings and special occasions. It also accommodates fully catered private events, catering to groups ranging from 10 to 300 guests. As the only rooftop bar in Bridgewater and the surrounding areas, The Bradford provides an elevated guest experience that blends sophisticated service with a vibrant social vibe.

The role of Assistant General Manager at The Bradford Rooftop is an exceptional opportunity for an energetic, experienced leader passionate about the hospitality industry. Reporting directly to the Restaurant General Manager, you will play a critical role in elevating the rooftop bar’s operations to new heights. This position demands hands-on leadership, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to performance excellence. Responsibilities include owning shifts at the rooftop bar, driving front-of-house operations including human resources, operations, and marketing, and optimizing staffing levels to balance efficiency and guest satisfaction. You will collaborate closely with a team of top-tier professionals and hotel management to ensure a seamless, unified guest experience. The position offers a competitive annual salary range of $75,000 to $80,000, reflecting experience and location, and provides a comprehensive benefits package available within 30 days of employment.

As an Assistant General Manager, you will take charge of planning and executing promotional events, partnering with marketing, PR, and hotel teams to generate excitement and increase brand awareness. You will forge and nurture local business partnerships alongside the Hotel Director of Sales to boost the venue’s presence within the community. Job Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in hospitality management or related field preferred
  • Minimum 2 years managerial experience in full-service restaurant environment
  • Proven experience managing high-volume operations
  • Strong knowledge of front of house operations, human resources, and marketing
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team
  • Proficiency in scheduling and staffing optimization
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to execute promotional events and foster business partnerships

Job Qualifications

  • At least 2 years experience as an assistant general manager, service manager, or bar manager at a full-service restaurant with a $2M+ volume
  • Promotional experience and social catering events experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work as a self-starter and collaborate within a team
  • Exceptional work ethic and upbeat, engaging personality
  • Strong multitasking skills and ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Positive, guest-focused attitude
