The role of the Restaurant Assistant Manager is vital for supporting the overall management and operational success of the restaurant. Working closely with the Restaurant General Manager (RGM), the Assistant Manager ensures that the restaurant operates efficiently by overseeing shifts, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and customer service, and assisting with financial and administrative responsibilities. In your role as Assistant Manager, you are expected to handle operational leadership duties, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and shift management. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience in supervisory or assistant management roles within the restaurant industry
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds
- Eligible to work in the United States
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within the restaurant industry
- Leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire team members
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
- Certification in food safety such as ServSafe is advantageous
Job Duties
- Assist the restaurant general manager in overseeing daily operations including opening and closing procedures
- Manage cash handling and shift management tasks
- Monitor and maintain restaurant cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Supervise and train restaurant crew members and shift managers providing guidance and feedback
- Assist in scheduling shifts and managing staffing levels
- Ensure exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving complaints
- Assist in managing restaurant finances including monitoring sales and expenses
- Manage inventory levels and order supplies
