The role of Assistant General Manager is a senior leadership position within the restaurant, designed for an experienced and energetic professional who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. As the Assistant General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the restaurant's service excellence, team development, operational efficiency, and financial performance. You will lead by example, being present and visible on the floor to actively manage service standards, engage with guests, and support staff in real time. This leadership position requires the ability to motivate and hold team members accountable, ensuring that every shift runs smoothly and that hospitality standards are consistently upheld.

Your responsibilities will encompass leading pre-shift meetings, conducting line checks, and facilitating daily manager huddles to align the team with service goals and operational priorities. Recruiting, hiring, and training new staff will be a key part of your duties, alongside managing schedules in partnership with the General Manager to optimize labor resources and meet business needs.

Operational management is a critical aspect of this role, including maintaining 24-hour operational sheets, planning 72 hours in advance, conducting facility walk-throughs, and addressing maintenance issues promptly. Keeping detailed daily manager logs ensures continuous communication and operational transparency.

Financial leadership is equally important, as you will support the achievement of targeted sales goals, manage budgets, and oversee daily tip records. Collecting and responding to guest feedback allows you to maintain high standards of service and quickly address any concerns, enhancing the overall guest experience.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience
  • ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing
  • ability to work standing for at least 8 hours daily
  • ability to reach, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently
  • stamina to work a minimum of 40 hours per week
  • ability to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of the restaurant's area

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience, preferably in restaurant operations
  • ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing
  • ability to work in a standing position for a minimum of 8 hours per day
  • ability to reach, bend, and frequently lift up to 50 lbs
  • must have stamina to work a minimum of 40 hours per week
  • ability to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of the restaurant's operating area
  • experience in multi-concept or growing hospitality groups
  • background in staff development and training program implementation
  • comfort with reservation management platforms such as OpenTable and SevenRooms
