This position also requires strong personnel management skills, as the Assistant Manager supervises, coaches, and develops assigned staff ensuring team cohesion and productivity.
In addition to operational oversight, Assistant Managers report directly to the General Manager and serve as key players in weaving the organization's mission into daily workflows. Their leadership impacts the quality of service delivered to Veterans and directly contributes to maintaining the high standards expected at all VCS locations. The position demands a passion for service and a commitment to the mission of supporting Veterans, aligning professional responsibilities with the organization’s values.
Participation in seasonal influenza and COVID-19 vaccination programs is mandated for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel, with exemptions only granted for medical or religious reasons. Wearing masks and adhering to health protocols when required is part of maintaining a safe environment. - Minimum 2 years of experience in food service or retail management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties
- Promote great customer service

- Direct the Patriot Café, Patriot Retail and/or Patriot Brew in the VA Medical Center
- Ensure day-to-day compliance to operational standards
- Inventory control, labor cost, and budget management
- Develops and implements local promotional programs
- Supervise assigned personnel
- Reports to General Manager
