The Restaurant Assistant General Manager (PM) serves as a pivotal leadership role within this team, supporting the evening operations at the Panera location. This position is integral to ensuring the smooth daily operation, administration, and performance of the restaurant’s activities. The Assistant General Manager collaborates closely with the General Manager to maintain strong financial performance, efficient service delivery, and outstanding guest satisfaction. Leadership responsibilities include overseeing a diverse team comprising both full-time and student employees, coordinating recruitment, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and maintaining workplace standards.

In addition to team management, this position enforces strict compliance with franchise and health regulations, ensuring sanitation and safety standards are met consistently within the facility. They are accountable for financial management aspects, such as cash reporting and payroll, holding approval authority to make important decisions that impact restaurant operations. Inventory management, including purchasing food and supplies, supervising production, and assisting in menu development, also falls within the scope of this role. The Assistant General Manager is expected to be proactive in resolving operational issues, clarifying policies, and facilitating superior service provisions to enrich the guest experience. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Four years of food service and restaurant supervision experience
  • Valid food handler card within 30 days of hiring
  • Ability to obtain ServSafe Certification within first 12 months of employment
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday 11:30AM-8:00PM
  • Ability to work home football game days and campus closures when required
  • Willingness to travel as needed
