The Assistant General Manager role at Oak View Group is a pivotal position dedicated to assisting the General Manager in ensuring the venue operates efficiently, professionally, and profitably. This leadership role involves oversight of managerial, full-time, and part-time staff positions while ensuring full compliance with applicable labor laws, sanitation rules, food ordinances, and alcohol service regulations. The Assistant General Manager is entrusted with supervisory responsibilities such as coaching, counseling, training, and mentoring employees to meet Oak View Group's high-quality standards. Additionally, the position authorizes employment decisions including hiring, termination, suspension, discipline, and promotions. With a strong focus on positive employee relations, the role requires fostering a harmonious, compliant, and cooperative work environment, supporting the venue’s operational success. Candidates must demonstrate excellent attendance, be available to work a flexible, event-driven schedule which includes evenings and weekends, and uphold a professional presentation that reflects the company’s values. Job Requirements

  • BA or BS degree or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of relevant management experience
  • Concessions Manager Certificate
  • advanced food service sanitation certification
  • valid Food Handlers certificate
  • valid Alcohol Service Permit if required by jurisdiction
  • ability to communicate effectively
  • strong decision-making skills
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office and POS
  • ability to manage in a fast-paced environment
  • knowledge of venue operations

Job Qualifications

  • BA or BS with a business-related major
  • minimum 3-5 years of management experience in the food-related or concessions industry
  • concessions manager certificate from the National Association of Concessionaires
  • nationally recognized, advanced food service sanitation training course certification
  • ability to communicate clearly and professionally with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff, and guests
  • ability to make sound business and operations decisions quickly and under pressure
  • solid working knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office, POS systems, and timekeeping systems
  • ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • thorough knowledge of concessions and premium services locations and operations
  • valid Food Handlers certificate and Alcohol Service Permit if required
  • familiar with inventory cost control and menu planning
  • thorough knowledge of sanitation requirements, food preparation guidelines, alcohol service policies, and safety standards
  • ability to calculate basic and complex math functions
  • ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly
  • adherence to highest standards of integrity, professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality
  • ability to work independently with little direction

Job Duties

  • assist in the overall effective management of concession operations
  • ensure total compliance with all alcohol service policies
  • monitor alcohol service throughout events to assure 100% compliance
  • report any alcohol service or compliance issues to management
  • assist in management of all events from setup to teardown including communication with hourly staff, culinary staff, and guests
  • ensure legal, efficient, professional, and profitable operation of the venue
  • generate and review financial reports including budgets, projections, forecasting, revenue analysis, and P&L statements
