This position is for an Assistant General Manager at Home2 Suites Minnetonka, a dynamic and hands-on leadership role requiring energy, dedication, and a proactive approach. The Assistant General Manager partners directly with the General Manager to guide and support the hotel team, ensuring smooth daily operations and maintaining Hilton’s distinguished standards. This role is not simply managerial in the traditional sense; it demands involvement at every level—from stepping in at the front desk during busy periods to mentoring and motivating staff across departments. The Assistant General Manager drives the hotel's culture and operational success by leading by example, fostering engagement, and resolving challenges with professionalism and urgency. This is a fast-paced setting that offers those passionate about hospitality the chance to truly influence guest satisfaction and team performance.

As a key leadership figure, the Assistant General Manager ensures that every guest feels welcomed, valued, and cared for, modeling the customer service standards that define Home2 Suites by Hilton. Responsibilities include topping off front desk coverage during peak times, serving as Manager on Duty during scheduled shifts and weekends, and maintaining close communication with all departments such as housekeeping and maintenance. The role requires flexibility with varied shift schedules often between 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM on weekdays and 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM on weekends, as well as participation in an on-call rotation.

Job Requirements

  • any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to effectively perform the duties
  • prior hotel leadership experience such as supervisor, assistant manager, or department leader
  • proven experience in hotel management or a similar leadership role within the hospitality industry
  • strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • sound understanding of hotel operations including front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance
  • financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and revenue management
  • ability to handle guest concerns with professionalism and tact
  • flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • partner with the general manager to ensure smooth and successful daily hotel operations
  • jump in where needed including front desk, guest support, problem solving, and team leadership
  • regularly cover front desk shifts and support peak operational times
  • serve as the manager on duty during scheduled shifts and weekends
  • inspire, motivate, and support team members across all departments
  • help hire, train, coach, and develop a strong and engaged team
  • foster a positive, accountable, and fun work culture
