The Assistant General Manager position at the Hampton Inn Rancho Cordova, located at 10755 Gold Center Drive, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670, is a key leadership role focused on driving hotel profitability through strategic revenue generation, cost control, guest satisfaction, and employee development, all while maintaining the integrity of the property. This full-time role offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 to $80,000 per year. The Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional service delivery and operational excellence. They play a vital role in hotel sales initiatives by interacting with key accounts and clients, hosting events, and maintaining strong relationships with on-site contacts. The role requires frequent collaboration with department heads to optimize performance, manage budgets, conduct staff trainings, and ensure compliance with corporate standards and policies.

Regular responsibilities include conducting property tours, managing weekly meetings, facilitating financial reviews, enforcing budget adherence, and coaching management teams to foster professional growth. The Assistant General Manager helps maintain hotel standards through regular inspections and preventive maintenance oversight, and ensures guest service quality and employee conduct meet Highgate’s exacting standards. Job Requirements

  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times

  • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings
  • Participate in MOD coverage as required
  • Maintain regular attendance per Highgate standards
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming including wearing nametags
  • Comply with Highgate standards and regulations for safe and efficient operations
  • Maximize productivity and assist in implementing solutions
  • Maintain confidentiality of information
  • Light work exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently
  • Perform other duties as requested by management

Job Qualifications

  • At least 5-6 years progressive experience in a hotel
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Effective communicator verbally and written with all levels of employees and guests
  • Strong multitasking and prioritization skills
  • Attentive friendly courteous and service-oriented approach
  • Ability to motivate coach counsel and discipline management personnel
  • Experience conducting performance appraisals and following corporate SOPs
  • Ability to handle problems proactively by anticipating preventing and solving issues
  • Capable of understanding and evaluating complex information and data

Job Duties

  • Play a pivotal role in hotel sales efforts including calling on top ten accounts meeting clients hosting luncheons and receptions meeting with on-site contacts daily weekly and monthly
  • Tour operating departments daily making adjustments as needed via department heads
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings including weekly training sessions and review of sales and operations efforts
  • Meet all financial review dates and corporate directed programs timely
  • Hold monthly financial review with all department managers M.I.D.s and available supervisors
  • Ensure department heads maintain budgeted productivity levels and standard checkbook accounting procedures
  • Develop managers for future advancement through competency and corporate training programs
