Job Description
Halo Sports & Entertainment (HSE) is a distinguished leader in the live entertainment industry, managing premier venue assets including the Intuit Dome and the KIA Forum in Inglewood, California. These two venues present unique operational profiles: the Intuit Dome operates as the home arena for the NBA's LA Clippers, anchoring its calendar around the NBA season, while the KIA Forum is a bustling concert venue hosting around 100 to 110 live events annually. HSE’s mission is to deliver exceptional live entertainment experiences by maximizing venue utilization, elevating programming, and cultivating strong relationships with artists, promoters, and agencies.\n\nThe Assistant General Manager, Business Development - Booking & Live Entertainment is a senior-level leadership role newly created to drive the live entertainment programming strategy across both venues. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this position serves as the chief programming strategist, chief deal-maker, and a pivotal team leader. The role demands mastery in navigating the complexities of live entertainment scheduling—especially working within NBA blackout dates and changeover windows at Intuit Dome—while maintaining the high-frequency concert rhythm at KIA Forum. This leader is responsible for developing and maintaining a 3-5 year event pipeline that supports the organization’s goal to keep both buildings consistently active, maximize revenue per available date, and establish HSE as a dominant force in the live entertainment market.\n\nThis full-time position, based in Inglewood, CA, requires a flexible schedule that can accommodate weeknights, weekends, and holidays due to the nature of the industry and events coverage, including NBA games and high-profile concerts. The role offers a competitive salary range from $200,000 to $275,000 annually, complemented by an annual performance bonus and an extensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision coverage, a 401(k) plan with company contributions, and a Well-Being Allowance. This is an exempt position critical to the company’s continued growth and operational excellence.\n\nThe Assistant General Manager will take full ownership of programming strategy for each venue. This includes leading deal negotiations with top talent agencies such as CAA, WME, UTA, and major promoters including Live Nation and AEG, fostering long-term, multi-year relationships beyond transactional bookings. Additionally, the role involves creating original events by evaluating opportunities for self-production, acquisitions, and co-production partnerships, using a disciplined framework to assess financial and strategic fit. A key success factor will be the seamless collaboration with marketing teams to align promotional and ticket-sale strategies from day one of every deal and use ticket data analytics to refine programming.\n\nLeading a team of 4 to 7 booking professionals, this executive will shape each venue’s identity and reputation, emphasizing inclusivity by programming underserved cultural and genre communities. The role also requires cross-functional partnership with the LA Clippers' NBA operations, Arena/Venue Operations, Sponsorship, and Premium Sales teams to ensure flawless event execution. The ideal candidate combines visionary leadership with hands-on expertise in high-volume venue programming, advanced knowledge of event P&L, on-sale strategies, and revenue forecasting across multiple venues.\n\nBoth venues represent exciting growth opportunities: Intuit Dome opened in August 2024 as a cutting-edge NBA arena with over 1 million square feet of space, including impressive amenities such as multiple basketball courts, a massive outdoor plaza, and an innovative acre-sized LED Halo Board, enhancing fan experiences and shaping the live music scene in Los Angeles. The KIA Forum continues to be a premier concert destination with established promoter relationships and consistent event throughput.\n\nThis role offers an entrepreneurial mandate, empowering the Assistant General Manager to originate, acquire, and co-produce events while defining the organization's market position. At Intuit Dome, innovation is embraced, and the use of emerging technologies and AI tools is encouraged to enhance creativity, operational efficiency, and the fan experience. This leadership opportunity is ideal for a seasoned professional with 10+ years in live entertainment booking or programming, demonstrated experience managing teams and multi-genre touring acts, and strong industry relationships. The position also supports diversity and equal opportunity, providing reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities. HSE and the LA Clippers are committed to maintaining a professional, inclusive work environment in compliance with all relevant laws and ordinances.
